Chapter 11
(Harper’s POV) It was 2am before I finally passed out from exhaustion. Louise had ended up staying with me all night as I screamed and cried in pain. At one point she had gone storming down to Colton’s room, but it was empty. Eventually Louise had called Beta Stokes, who I remember briefly glaring at me in disgust before storming out again. Mrs Stokes assured me that it was Colton he was angry at, not me. Doctor Roberts arrived after that and injected something into me. The pain was still there, but it was like I didn’t care about it anymore. That was when I was able to pass out into blissful unconsciousness. The next morning, I was woken by a knock at the bedroom door. I stumbled over to answer and found Louise on the other side. She had slipped out an hour or so ago to get ready for school. I pulled her into the room quickly, not wanting to see anyone. “Give m

Chapter 12
(Harper’s POV) The ride to school was uncomfortable. I could tell that Louise wanted to say something. Most likely about the way that I was acting with Colton. We made it almost the whole way before Louise finally broke the silence.“I’m sorry!” she burst out. Here we go, I thought.“What the hell Harper?” She glanced at me briefly before returning her eyes to the road.“Please don’t Louise,” I pleaded. I really didn’t want to get into an argument on the patriarchy with Louise, certainly not when I felt as crappy as I did right now.“Harper, how can you forgive him so easily?” she said, “Last night you were in so much pain that you practically had to be sedated, and all because he couldn’t keep it in his pants and cheated on you,”“Well, I mean, technically nobody knows we are even together yet. So does it coun

Chapter 13
(Harper’s POV) Katie gasped, and Louise had a disgusted look on her face. I glanced at the ring and felt sick. Colton had not only commanded me so easily, I didn’t even know he had done it. Could I really trust him if he could hold that much power over me and use it so easily?  I didn’t have too much longer to think about it as the gratingly high pitched voice of Donna floated into the room, and she and her vapid fangirls walked in. She was ranting about the rumour and was declaring loudly that she would find the girl, although she didn’t use that term, and would make sure she disappeared for good. Donna was your typical bleached blond hair and fake tanned stereotyped mean girl that you saw in all the teen movies. Her father was the business manager for the pack and that afforded them a higher ranking among the pack, but everyone knew that wasn’t enough for the spiteful, self proclaim

Chapter 14
(Harper’s POV) The Beta came stomping down the hallway, his authoritative aura surrounding him, making him appear even bigger than he already was “All of you out, unless you want to be involved in the punishment,” he shouted at the students that were watching. They soon dispersed, and as soon as the block disappeared, Louise and Katie ran to me. I was trying to clear the blood that was pouring from a gash in my head out of my eyes, but it wasn’t slowing. Louise pulled her jumper off and placed it over my head. My wolf was weak right now, so she wasn’t able to heal me as quickly as she normally would. The Beta got to me and took the jumper from Louise and looked under and hissed. He then smiled at me “Just a scratch” I grinned, feeling a little woozy “I’m not sure I believe you on that,” I said, and then covered my mouth with my hand.

Chapter 15
(Harper’s POV) I woke up in darkness. I was in bed and I was alone. I moved to find my phone to get the time and I hissed as pain radiated out through my body. It wasn’t as bad as earlier, in fact it was quite manageable. I fumbled on the bedside table for my phone when I realised that I didn't remember even bringing my school bag home.  I pulled myself out of bed and made my way slowly towards where I remembered the bathroom was. I reckoned that from the dark of the room that it was probably early hours in the morning, although my tummy was making growling noises. Then again, I had eaten since lunch time so no wonder I was hungry. I finally found the bathroom door and opened it, and was blinded by the bright light flooding in. I glanced at the window and saw that it was full daylight outside. Crap! How long did I sl

Chapter 16
(Harpers POV) I stared at myself in the mirror, fascinated by my new eyes. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the colour actually radiated several shades of gold in a starburst pattern that seemed to shimmer.“Strawberries.” Colton drew my attention back to the room and the two waiting pack members “Come here please” Colton had settled himself in the chair behind the desk. I walked over and he pulled me onto his knee and wrapped his arms around my waist.“The reason why I have called you here baby is because Mr Tobbins and his daughter both currently stand accused of crimes against the pack,” I glanced up at Donna and the man, who I now knew was Richard Tobbins, and also the pack business manager, “The Alpha decided that the whole family would be held accountable for their actions, and as you were physically hurt by one of the accused that you would be directly involved in deciding th

Chapter 17
(Harper’s POV) After I realised that I was only wearing a long t-shirt and no panties, Colton helped me sneak back up to my room and then helped me out of his t-shirt. He never made it back to his office for the rest of the day.  We just about managed to get dressed and make it to dinner, where both the Alpha and the Beta seemed super fascinated with my spontaneous upranking. “So it just came on all by itself?” the Alpha asked, watching me with curiosity. Colton sat in the chair next to me, his arm held tightly around my shoulder.“Yep” he said, “She saw that slut from school and growled. I watched as her wolf appeared and then watched the silver in her eyes starburst into the gold.” I listened with interest. I had no idea it had been such a display. “And what were you feeling, or thinking?” the Beta asked me. I shrugged, “Angry,

Chapter 18
(Harper POV)   The next morning at breakfast felt awkward. Colton had seated himself in his father’s normal seat at the end of the dining table. He had put me in his usual seat and Damien had sat himself opposite me. We were already seated in uncomfortable silence when Damien had sat down. He winked at me, and I looked down at my hands. The sound of their sniggers made me feel sick. I felt Colton’s hand on my thigh and tried to pull away and he gripped and squeezed hard. Hard enough for me to cry out. I looked up and saw the whole table looking at me and I covered my mouth. I looked at Colton, who was glaring at me. I lowered my eyes again and heard him chuckle. “Women, eh?” he said and the men around the room chuckled. I glanced up again and Colton began rubbing my thigh where he had previously hurt it.   “Harper dear,” the Luna called from down the table, “Caroline and I were going to get ready for this eveni

(Harper’s POV) The day was filled with awkwardness. Colton’s mum and the Luna obviously knew about the change to the intention ceremony, and both seemed to be very excited about it. “Isn’t it a little quick?” I asked as the Luna held up different dresses to my body.“Or a lot quick,” Louise said, which earned her a glare from the Luna“Louise dear, I’m not sure you can understand the want to be connected to your fated mate, once you find them,” Caroline chastised, and I glanced at Louise, who blushed. She saw me looking and looked away. I knew already that she had found that fated mate, but she still wasn’t admitting it to herself. Forget anyone else.“Now Harper dear,” Caroline said “I know that it can feel a little fast, but it is quite an acceptable time frame.”“And didn’t I hear that you asked

Chapter 20
(Harper’s POV) A murmur went through the room as I quickly glanced around. My eyes rested on my mothers and then my fathers. Both of them looked so proud, I smiled weakly at them. I could see Tommy next to my father, but his back was to me. In fact, he was the only person in the room who wasn’t looking at me. I wanted to hide behind Colton; I was never one for attention and the amount directed my way was way too much.  Colton tugged gently on my hand and began rubbing circles with his thumb again. I looked up at him and he smiled. I hadn’t even noticed, but my breathing had shallowed with my anxiety. I smiled back as I regained my breath and Colton began leading us down the centre of the room towards the stage. I tried to compose my nerves as we mounted the stairs onto the stage where the master table was. I glanced at Louise, who met my eyes and forced a smile. The Alpha stood in front of us and
