CHAPTER 40 - Redeemer of Angels
Cloud's POV I had already been parked outside Athena's office when I received a text message from her saying she was just about to clock out in fifteen minutes. I messaged her back, informing her that I was already waiting for her to evacuate the building. Furthermore, I have not ever heard from her again after that, so I hypothesized she was going to finish up whatever work activities she was doing to officially end her shift for the day. I started to turn on my car stereo and flipped from one channel to the next, selecting a song that best suit my mood and preferences. And after I have selected the ballad that I find really relaxing and calming my nerves, I reached out to maximize the volume of my speaker then grabbed the backrest, and crouched down comfortably, trying to sing along with the ballads vociferously like a drunkard. My voice croaking as I tried my best to reach the highest pitch of the tune, eager to mimic the singer. I feel like I am

CHAPTER 41 - Good Life
Megan's POV As I started to hear Greg's angry snoring next to me, I started rolling my eyes. To get away from the garbled noise, I actually attempted to shift my position slightly to the side. Later on, I noticed like it was actually getting louder and crazier until I could no longer help but scoop up a pillow and thwack it right in front of his face. He seemed to recognize my unexpected intervention because he immediately stopped making some noise while still in a catatonic state. I took a deep breath, annoyed and irritated at the same time. I had never really been to work in weeks because I have been staying at Greg's rented house. I did not even attempt notifying them, either via text message or a quick phone call. They had really been sending me text messages, missed calls, and email messages nonstop, but I had not tried to respond to any of them. Even Lovi is not really convinced that I am. I am not completely

CHAPTER 42 - Bottled Up Emotions
Lovi's POV I had been driving downtown when I started to notice a certain bar along the main road. In the dead of the night, it makes it appear visually enticing and vibrant. I came to a screeching halt on the side of the highway, still looking intently at the bar across the street. There is an unsettling thought persuading me to enter the bar and then have a good time, forgetting about something else for the time being. I am really not your typical bar or party swinger. As Megan's friend, I have been all over bars and nightclubs before for a casual drink. But then, if Megan had never really invited me, I would never set foot in this place. I decided to enter the hustle and bustle bar with apprehension at first. The vitality of the party-goers and the groovy tunes hammering on my inner self had me swept away. I ended up sitting at the bar counter and requested the uniformed bartender to make me a lady's drink. I managed to c

CHAPTER 43 - Feral Cat
Lovi's POV Because when that random man had made that sensual request, I impulsively nodded my head in a knee-jerk reaction. Once I reacted, he smirked provocatively. And, without giving us the opportunity to carefully consider, he squeezed my hand firmly, and then we were speedily out the back entrance when he suddenly and unexpectedly stopped abruptly. "So, what is the matter?" As we tried to enter a dark corner, I questioned. "I cannot take this anymore.. I've got to take you now," he said that between respirations. At his utterance, I gulped down as he whittled down his gaze on me like a hawk prowling its food source. I did not even say anything at all because I could not even think. I came to know in the back of my mind that all of this was way off the mark, but seeing Kyle actually makes me feel hostile and outraged. I was also still working extremely hard to slow my breathing and grasp my gulp of air. He

CHAPTER 44 - Inner Peace
Athena's POV I brought back my gaze to Cloud, who was sitting there looking at me and waving me goodbye in his car, window frames completely open and a cheesy grin on his face. When I saw him still trying to check to make absolutely sure I was perfectly alright, I ended up giving him my face of an angel then smiled and waved, then motioned for him to consider leaving. He drove away after raising his right hand in a salute and bursting out laughing. I started to laugh, still gazing lovingly in the direction in which he had left off. I really can not possibly ask for something more. Cloud is the type of man that every woman wishes she could have. It has been a week since I returned to the office, and he keeps driving me there every morning and makes sure to pick me up at the end of my shift in the afternoon. Except for preparing food and a list of groceries, I very seldom have to do any household tasks as soon as we get home be

CHAPTER 45 - Flightless Bird
Lovi's POVI had been late for work, and now everyone, including Athena, must have been staring at me with questionable eyes. After years of working with the company, it would have been my first time being late, so I fully comprehend the throbbing questions in their eyes. I did not have the nerve to explain myself, so I forestalled my gaze. After a few moments of having to settle into my work area, our office supervisor called me up."Sir, good morning." As soon as I walked into his office, I greeted him respectfully."Lovi, good morning. Is everything all right? What actually happened?"I breathed deeply. "I sincerely apologize for being so late, sir. I absolutely guarantee that this would be the first and last time it will happen," I responded right away.My boss shook his head and dismissively tossed his hands up in the air. "It was all right. I do not really mind your tardiness because it just was not habitual, which

CHAPTER 46 - Trapped
Megan's POV "H-hi," I stammered, a little shyly. Cloud, who had been standing from the other side of the door, was obviously taken aback by my appearance. His dark-colored eyes narrowed as surprise and bewilderment embossed their way across his handsome features. Just to see him bare-chested real close crafted him even more breathtaking. A complexion that has already been tanned, oblique muscles over muscular arms. His chest is seamless, his pec muscle is outlined, and his six-pack abdominal muscles are likable. I blush just trying to think about it because I simply can not imagine having to put my tongue anywhere else on Cloud's body— Hold on a second. I could indeed dream of putting my tongue all over Cloud's body, and I am completely convinced that he would love every second of it. I am quite certain I just might. That concept made me smile slyly. "What are you doing here?" he wondered out loud, trying to

CHAPTER 47 - The Unleashed
Cloud's POV As I awoke, I heard a clanking noise around me. I worked hard to keep my eyes open because I was fatigued and depleted, so I opted to keep them firmly shut for a while as I attempted to use my senses to discern what I was hearing in the distance. I got to hear the use of some kitchen utensils. Someone must be, presumably, slicing something with the sharp, metal-bladed knife. I heard some stripping and scooping, but it sounded so hazy that I could not really form a mental representation of it. I attempted to move around a little, and I felt the intimately acquainted surface of where I was lying. Everything in the bedroom is my possession, including that of the soft mattress and chiffon sheets. I quickly remembered everything after another few moments of consciousness. I recalled dropping Athena off at her workplace and then scrambling home to finish some tasks at the library. Chad called and told me about the best nigh

CHAPTER 48 - Remorse
Athena's POV I had just finished cooking the risotto in the large saucepan and was unceasingly stirring the sauce to thwart a bulge from establishing on the narrow region of the casserole when I started hearing someone dash down the stairs, having realized that Cloud was now awake and alert. As soon as he saw me, he decided to enter the kitchen, deeply disoriented and flustered. I looked up and greeted him, "Hello there, sleepyhead. Are you going somewhere?" I questioned as my eyes roamed around his body and I observed he was actually dressed. I witnessed as Cloud's eyes narrowed, and my eyebrows furrowed as he stopped and looked at me. "No, I —I was supposed to pick you up, but I fell asleep for a long period of time," he stammered. "Yes, I am familiar with the idea. Everything else was fine. I was able to come home safely," I tried to reassure him with a comforting smile. "When did you arrive home? And how &nb

CHAPTER 49 - Traps of Passion
Cloud's POV When Athena told me earlier that she believed in me and trusted me, I did not know how to feel. I am not sure what that's about, but as soon as I got to hear that, I felt a toughening smudge form in my throat, starting to make me feel like I was suffocating on my own deception and lies. I did not feel any shame or negative perception when I was doing it with Megan earlier. All I can think about is the pleasure and enjoyment I experienced as I demonstrated my wanderlust to her. I had become so enthralled that I lost track of time and even completely missed fulfilling my assurance to Athena. I soon realized it was late in the evening, but I have not scooped her up yet, and my mind was soon stuffed with apprehensions and horrible concern for her safety. Because of my selfish greed, I had totally forgotten that Athena was still deathly afraid of her previous horrific experiences, regardless of the fact that I had previously become e
