Chapter 21 - That Blonde Girl
“It’s cold, wear this.” Gideon handed me a rugged, brown cloak.     After tying the cloak around my chest, he helped me get to the seat on Fergus’ back. Yep, the horse’s name is Fergus. It has long, silver hair; his skin is like the color of ashes.     Gideon sat behind me. I didn’t know Gideon owns a horse. I’m surprised there’s even a horse in the area knowing this is a town of vampires. I guess they use horses for transportation as well.     “The market is not that far. We can return before sunset.” Gideon reassured. I can already sense his wide smile even though

Chapter 22 - Curse
The buzzing sound was deafening and it stirred me awake. My body feels cold. Slowly, I opened my eyes and stared at the flickering lights. I was again inside this prison cell only this time I wasn’t alone.     The room looked as it was before, huge glass walls and cold cement flooring. I couldn’t see clearly, everything’s just blurry. My head felt like it’s about to explode.     I stared at the lady standing just outside my cell.     “Who are you?” I blinked, narrowing my eyes so that I could focus on her face but I failed. Her face was just blurry but I’m certain her hair was red and wavy.&nbs

Chapter 23 - Human
“My name is Saskia.” She introduced gracefully. Her beautiful blonde braid rests on her shoulder, with locks still hanging on the side of her heart shaped face. She's too delicate-looking.     I smiled, “Do you paint?” I turned to her with raised brows, waiting for her to reply.     Saskia is here in my room, she said she'll be leaving later and she wanted to hang out with me.     “I don't but I can try?” She chuckled, even her voice sounds sweet.     I gave her a spare canvas and a paintbrush

Chapter 24 - Strange Noises
It's a bright and snowy morning but I feel horrible. I put both of my hands on the side of the sink, breathing heavily. The vomiting would not stop. I often feel lightheaded even when I just rested all day.    Ambrose said that I'll feel better if I take the pills and rest. So I did that in the past few days yet I haven't felt any better.    I stared at the tray of food on my bedside table. I have no appetite but then if I don’t eat, my body will be weak. So I have no choice but to grab the tray and start eating. I have to stay alive if I want to recover my memories.     There’s still a part of me that believes that I can remember an

Chapter 25 - Ghost Town
Just as I let out an exasperating breath, the wind flew across my face. My hair was being blown by the wind, each strand felt ticklish against my pale, and porcelain skin. I was again feeling lonesome on the castle’s roof with no one to talk to. It’s been weeks again, days have passed so fast.     It seems as if all of them felt distant and oddly cold just like the snow in Emberton. Unlike these thick clothes that give me comfort and warmth, the vampires here were the exact opposite.     Last night, I was awake the whole time and I am sure as hell that it was not a nightmare that I saw. I was just simply sitting at the edge of my bed, staring at the window. I was admiring the full moon and the stars that seem to only appear when I

Chapter 26 - Lost Book
The castle appeared to be quieter without Gideon around. I just found out that Sage is no longer available since he had been busy with tending to his sick mother. I was left with the three silent ones so here I am in my room, lying in bed. So much for not being dead yet. This feels like torture!     I’m here on the bed lying while staring at the ceiling, wondering who the hell that elderly woman was. I felt it; the rage in me was just uncontrollable. Seeing her being tortured and burned made me livid. I may not remember exactly what happened but I remember the emotions I felt. The worst part was I could not even do anything to save her.     I got up from my bed when I heard a knock. Only half of my body is covered in duvet. I leaned bac

Chapter 27 - Dream of Tragedy
I was back in my room, at the town of Emberton. Sweating profusely, I felt like my body was burning up. Was that really one of those nightmares? It's so strange. I don't even recognize them, the people inside my head.     There was smoke covering the room. I can smell something burning. I looked around and saw that the room was dark, really dark that I couldn't see a thing. I can only feel the soft, warm sheets beneath me.     I let out a cough; the smell of smoke suffocates my lungs. I tried to touch my surroundings, hoping I would get a hold of something useful, like a lamp.     “Where is the lamp when you need it?” I mum

Chapter 28 - Prisoner
The howl of the cold wind made my skin shiver as I yelped from my sleep. I looked around in panic to see where I was. It was wet beneath my feet, my knees shivering to stay up. I was panting but all I inhaled was the horrid smell of moss and decay. My sight landed on the metal bars across me, they were rusty and old. Now, I’m sure that I am locked up in the basement inside one of the cells.     “Help me!” A weak voice whimpered, her soft voice echoed inside the cold room.     I narrowed my eyes to see clearly whose voice was that. My sight was blurry for a moment, I couldn’t recognize a thing. I blinked twice to let my sight adjust and there, I saw who it was.

Chapter 29 - Endless Sickness
Red strands embraced me with warmth and her soft whispers of comfort. Beneath me lay the coldness of the grass and dew. I inhaled the fresh, cool air along with her sweet scent. The fog wasn’t enough to block my view of her sympathetic look. Her pale, porcelain skin contrasted her blood red hair.    “You won’t remember a thing once you wake up, my dear sister,” Her murmurs were like soft howls of the wind, breathy and mellow so different from her personality.    My legs shivered at the wet ground, “Why are you helping me? I have committed a sin, Fallon.” I paused, suddenly out of air.    I watched her blink innocen

Chapter 30 - Weapon
The sound of metal swinging made me jolt in surprise. I could almost hear my heart racing so fast. My sight bore at Sage who was pushing the cell door open. On his grip was a tray of food, the smell of egg and bacon filled my nostrils.    He fed me again and made me drink water. It turns out that the violet fluid is some kind of a drug to weaken my abilities. It also makes my body low in energy. Sage has told me that they had to drug me to keep my powers controlled but I knew better not to believe them; they were only feeding me lies.    After Sage fed me up, he locked my cell again. A few seconds later, I heard his footsteps approaching the stairs into the castle.
