Chapter forty one
"About an hour ago." I answered. "Where have you been? I never saw you walking in." I said to him. "Well, I've been in my room." He answered. That was a total lie. I had come here and had gone into his room. He was never there. And he was still in his work clothes too. I wanted so bad to tell him that I had been to his room and he wasn't there. I wanted to ask him to tell me where he had really gone to but I didn't. I didn't want my dad to know that I had been snooping around in his room. I've never been in his room for anything before. So he would know that I was suspecting something if I say anything about it. I will have to catch my dad red handed in whatever it is that he is doing so he won't be able to deny it. But this would have to wait till I returned from my quest. "Okay dad. Just wanted to check on you, that's all." I said to him, g

I got myself to school and in class already was Linda. "Hi Linda." I said. "Good morning. How are you doing?" She asked. "I'm good. So, what's up?" I said. "Well, promise you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you." She said. "I promise." I replied. "Okay then." She started. "I'm still worried Lucif. What if that book was something serious? I don't want to die." She said. "You're not going to die. Stop being so scared." I told her. "But the book looks like it's truly cursed. I mean, did you see the skull on it?" She said. "Yes yes. And there are a lot of skulls on other things too." I said. "I'm just worried that's all." Linda said. "Come here." I said. She came closer and I comforted her with a hug. "If at all anything happens, I promise to protect you. Is that o

I returned to my fathers house from school. I had suddenly remembered the mirror given to me long ago by pain. I had to get the mirror back in case of any emergency that I would need to use it. I got there and made my way inside. Dad wasn't around. At least I hoped he wouldn't be. I don't want him coming up from behind me just like the last time when I had been seated in the living room. I claimed up the stairs and stopped at my room door. I pulled out my key from my pocket and unlocked my door. Then I walked in and opened my wardrobe. It's a good thing i still remembered where I kept it cause if I didn't then I would have spent more time here than planned. I quickly grabbed the mirror and left my room, making sure to lock the door as it was. While I climbed the stairs I heard foot steps. I hid at a corner and peeped to see who was coming up

Chapter forty four
44As we walked on following Diana, she suddenly came to a stop. We noticed that we had gone far and deep into the forest. "Why are we stopping here?" Pablo asked. "Well, the map comes to a stop here first." Diana answered. "What do you mean?" Freddy asked. "There are five marked points in the map. The first four are named as tasks while the last one is named, home to the mad." Diana explained. "Here, check if the book says something about the marked spots." Diana said, handing Pablo the book. Pablo collected it and took a look. "Yes it does." Pablo answered. "Well?" I asked. "There are four tasks in your different phases of the forest which we need to fulfill on our way to the home of the mad." Pablo said. "Four tasks? Four different phases of the forest? Home of the... the mad?! You guys have got to be kidding me!" Linda

45I wish I never went through my father's closet. I wish I had never found that damned book. Pablo POVLooks like there's no cave here. I knew this would be pointless, I just knew it. Now I just have to find the others. They must have already wondered far away while searching for the cave. We should have chosen where to meet before parting. I turned back and started trying to find my way back to them. This place is just horrible. While I was returning I spotted a river. But it wasn't there before. That's weird. Before I knew it, a mermaid leap up in the water and splashed back in. That definitely got my attention. The mermaid swam to the shore and just sat there. The whole thing was new to me so I wanted to keep a picture. I had always wanted to meet a mermaid since I was a child, even if I knew perfectly wel

Chapter forty six
Diana followed I and Linda back to the spot where we had sat. After searching and walking for what seemed like eternity, that was the only spot that I and Linda found that was dry enough to sit on. Linda didn't look so happy that Diana was here but me, well, I was overjoyed. Now that Diana is here with me I can be sure that she is safe at all times. "What about the others?" Diana asked me. "We haven't found them yet." Linda answered. "As you can see, it was just I and Lucif alone before you showed up." Linda added. Diana didn't look offended by Linda's words but smiled instead. "Thanks for the info." She said to Linda and cuddled with me. Linda was fuming and looked like she was going to explode. I actually enjoyed every moment of this. "Do you think we'll ever be able to get out of this alive?" Diana asked me. "Of course we wil

Chapter forty seven
Pablo POVI was still walking through this horrible place when I suddenly stumbled upon something and got caught in a net that hung on a tree. What the hell is this supposed to mean? I struggled and tried to get myself loose but it was all in vein. What or who would set a trap in the middle of nowhere? I sat there hopeless and ready to die. From inside the net I saw a big fat beast with knives in its hands walk to the direction of where I was hung. The beast did something that assured me of my death. It cut the upper part of the net and flung me across its shoulders. That's it I'm dead. After a very long walk the beast stopped and tied the net I was in on a different but shorter tree. It gathered firewood and used two rocks to light it by hitting the rock against each other. When the firewood caught fire it carri

"I think we should find a place to sit and think about this entire thing before taking the next task." I said. "Lucif is right. We need to think about this and make plans." Pablo agreed. "Well, just make sure wherever you guys pick is not wet." Diana said. We started walking around and looking for a place suitable for us to at least seat down. "My legs are hurting so bad." Linda said. "Chill, we'll find a spot soon." Freddy said. We walked and walked for hours but couldn't find anywhere to stay. "This can't be happening. Don't tell me there is no single dry spot here." Diana said. "We've been walking for hours for nothing." Linda added. "I just can't imagine myself sitting on a place like this." Diana complained. "Calm down Diana. I'm sure we'll find somewhere to rest soon." I said to her. We walked some more and fi

I said. Pablo went closer and took a look."He really is stuck." Pablo said. "Guys please help me! Get my hand off thing!" Freddy shouted. "Do something." Linda said to the rest of us. "We know but what are we going to do? How do we get someone's hand loose from a block?!" Diana panicked. "Calm down calm down, let's check the book.aybe there's something helpful in it." I said. Diana gave the book to Pablo and he went through the pages of the second task. I smelt fire and when we all turned it was the block which Freddy's hand was stuck on. "Hot! Hot! My hand is burning!" Freddy screamed and cried in pain. "Be fast!" Linda screamed at Pablo in panick. P

A large snake with two heads had bitten me. Everything around me became blurry and every sound like an echo not stopping. The last thing I saw as I fell to the ground, were my friends rushing towards me. I opened my eyes and found myself in a dark and empty room. Where am I? And where are the others? I got up and started walking towards the door. But the more I walked the more it became obvious that I was going nowhere. It was just like the ground was moving opposite direction and in same pace as me. I even started running but the door remained in the same position as it. Soon I gave up and sat on the floor, staring at the door. I looked around while sitting there and found that it was a small room and just a very small window on the ceiling which lit the room dimly. I sat there, waiting for nothing, expecting noth
