I had been married to Ronan for three months. I had to admit I didn’t hate it that much. When we came back from our honeymoon, we were totally infatuated with each other. I was more than ready to be his Luna and support him. The best part about all of this was that I hadn’t made Ronan mad once since coming back. Things were kind of perfect. Except for Beta Grant of course.I swear he was even meaner to me now than when I first met him. He was rude and blunt and didn’t treat me like a sister or a Luna. He’s the worst. “Morning, beautiful,” Ronan came up behind me and kissed my cheek as I was doing my hair one morning. 

Ronan seemed kind of suspicious about Trisha and I taking a girls day.I think he was worried I would tell her that he hurt me, but it was much too late. She of course, was more than aware. I told her (leaving out as much detail as possible of course) about our fight the previous night. She thought it was bold of me to even bring up the fact that he hit me. “Bowen, you don’t want to make things worse.”“They’re not going to get better,” I shrugged. Trisha sighed. “You have to think carefully about your next move and if you’re going to keep acting so boldly. That will get you more consequences.”I groaned. &ldq

“What?”  Beta Grant asked.  “You must hurry! Get Luna Bowen to the garage!” “Why the garage?”  “It’s what Alpha Ronan said! We must go now!” Beta Grant grabbed my hand and pulled me up. I tried to keep up, but these damn heels were going to break my ankles.  “Bowen faster!” He urged, tugging me harder.  “I’m trying!” I exclaimed.  Finally we reached the garage. Beta Grant quickly locked the side door. “Who would even be attacking us right now?” I asked.  “I don’t know, but Ronan has a lot of enemies.”

The packhouse shook at the sound of an explosion. “What the fuck is that?” Ronan demanded. “They have Jinxes with them!” Beta Grant informed us. “Take Bowen to the bunker, now!” “Wait, Ronan, where are you going?” I asked. “I have to go fight with the pack.”The last time a man said that to me he died. Maybe I would get lucky and history would repeat itself. “Okay, go. Be safe!”He kissed me before running off. 

We hit the water hard.  The cold water was a shock to my system, but I forced myself to swim up. I gasped for air as I broke the surface.  “Grant?” I looked around desperately. “Grant where are you?” It was dark and I had to squint furiously. I saw a figure floating in the water and swam over to it. Grant was face down and not moving. I grabbed his arm and pulled him through the water to the shore. I started doing CPR hoping and praying to the Moon Goddess that I could revive him. After a few moments, Beta Grant sputtered and coughed up water.  “Oh, you’re alive!” I sighed happily.  “I’m shocked you’re so happy about that,” He wheezed.
