Chapter 11
Kade“Fuck” I cursed under my breath seeing Sabine’s naked body laying on the frozen ground. My bones snapped and rearranged almost instantly, thanks to the multiple times I shifted.  I bent down quickly checking her pulse and I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.  She was alive. Her pulse was weak but it was there and that gave me hope.“Come on Sabine, wake up.” I  said, shaking her trying to get a reaction from her. She looked just like a sleeping Snow White. “Don’t give up on me” I voiced out, surprising  myself. I glanced around to see if I could spot the grey she-wolf, but like the other time, she was gone. Kieran's anxiety made my head spin and I had to push him back so I could focus. I know the she-wolf needed medical attention, too and I  will do my best to find her. Right now I can’t go chasing

Chapter 12
KadeI kept pacing back and forth on the pack clinic hallway waiting for someone to come and let me know how Sabine was doing. We were twenty minutes away when I mind linked the pack doctor, letting her know that I needed her help. The doctor waited for us in front of the clinic taking Sabine right away. I knew she was going to send someone as soon as she had news. I glanced at the wall clock and I felt stuck in time. Only a minute has passed since I checked it last time.  I brushed my hair nervously not knowing what to do next."Boss, we came as soon as we heard the news” Jonah’s voice sounded behind me. As I turned to look at him I could see the worry spread all over his face.” This is my wife, Alma,” Jonah said, introducing a woman who looked down, fidgeting her fingers. “And  this

SabineA sob leaves my mouth while I am covering my eyes. I feel sore. I kept tossing and turning, but I am not ready to wake up yet. My eyelids feel heavy and the light is bothering my eyes. I sighed thinking that today I have to come up with a plan. I am not going to survive if I keep eating frozen roots, I need some protein too. The thought I could fail slips into my mind and for a moment I am debating if I should go back to my dad, but I push the thought away. I would rather die here starving than going back and being forced to marry Mika.A growl escapes my mouth as a beeping sound becomes louder, forcing me to open my eyes and see where it was coming from.I gasped in shock seeing that I wasn’t in the tree hollow anymore. I was in a cold white roo

Kade“Mr., I don’t think you understand what I am saying.  As soon as my granddaughter wakes up we will be leaving”, Coralia said shortly, tasting my patience.“Grandma” I said and she instantly rolled her eyes, annoyed. “ I don’t think you heard me when I said you are not taking the girl.” I told her through gritted teeth accentuating every word. Coralia opened her mouth to argue with me but I raised my finger to stop her. “I don’t think you understand that Your granddaughter was in pretty bad shape when I found her here on my land. All I want, is to make sure that she will fully recover and I am sorry to tell you but you can not provide such an environment.” I spat before heading towards the exit. “ Go and rest, the doctor will let

Kade I didn’t think I could walk that fast in my human form and yet I got to the pack clinic in record time. I convinced myself that I would just stop by and see how Sabine was doing, if she needed anything. Never have I ever believed that the moment I opened the room door I would be bewitched.  My heart skipped a beat seeing her sitting on the edge of the bed dressed in a blue hospital gown that didn’t cover her too much, chatting with Sasha. I felt Kieran drooling over the bond and I wondered for the nth time what was about her that made us both so enchanted. “Hey”, I heard myself saying and I could see her cute mouth making an “o” shape.  “Hi,” she replied, smiling trying to hide her surprise. “Alpha, I’ll be outside in case you need me” Sasha said q

SabineMy parents, oh no, what am I going to do? I don’t want to go back… why did you Goddess let them find me. Why didn’t you let me die in the woods? I would have died happy, with him in my thoughts. He was all I could think about it, I talked to him, while Inna stopped answering and he guided my steps through the woods. How I wished I had gone with him and his friend but my stubbornness got the best of me. I sigh thinking about those gorgeous chocolate eyes. Besides the men in our group I haven’t met many, but He was definitely the most handsome guy I saw. My face almost turns red when I remember how it felt to be in his muscular arms. How his soft hands cleaned my wound without me feeling anything. I only wish I knew his name. “Sabine, do you want anything else to eat?” Sasha asked me, interrupting my daydreaming.

Sabine“I can’t even look at you right now,” My dad  spat angrily. “I don’t think you realized how bad you made us look, I thought you understood the importance of your union with Mika. It’s not about you, it’s about everyone” Dad continued clenching his fists.Every word he says hits my heart like a thousand knives, why don't I have a word to say? Why didn't it matter what I wanted? I gulped down the lump formed in my throat not being able to look at him while he continued blaming me. “As soon as the doctor lets you go, you will marry Mika and we all leave this place. No celebration, nothing. We wasted precious food on an engagement that didn’t take place, I am not going to do it again. Now pray, that Mika would still agree to take you” Dad uttered and I chuckled. “Like he would miss the chance to become the next Chief” I heard myself saying.

Chapter 18
SabineI sighed, opening my eyes. It’s been three days since I woke up and doctor Smith insisted on keeping me here so I completely heal. I wrapped myself into the yellow fluffy blanket that Sasha brought me and got down the bed. I walked towards the window, even though it’s still dark, the forest outside gives me peace. I know it sounds strange but I never felt more like home than I felt here. I know I am sitting in a clinic bed but having a roof over my head and not having to move around every day really made me feel that I belong here.Mom and Sasha have been taking turns to keep me company, not that I am complaining. It’s nice to have them both around. My mom now looks happier than ever, she usually comes in the afternoon loaded with books about plants and herbs thanks to the lady she stays with.  We get to spend most of

SabineNot long after doctor Smith left me, Sasha came in humming a song. Since I got to meet her she was always a cheerful person who made me laugh but today I feel there is more to it.“Are you ready?” Sasha asked me with a big smile plastered on her face.“I should be thrilled, right?”  I surprised myself by saying and she looked at me curiously. “I am freaking out” I added more to myself“Sabine, I already told you, Kade is really nice and he is going to take care of you. He is not going to allow anyone to mistreat you.” Sasha told me and I smiled. She was right, she did say that, countless times. “I went to your mom and she sent you this,” she said, pulling out a bag from her backpack and giving it to me.

Sabine “We need to head out downstairs, when it comes to food, Ella never jokes about it.” Sasha chuckled.“Lead the way, I don’t want to get us in trouble” I whispered, a little concerned and Sasha started laughing. “Trust me, Ella doesn’t hold such power. Anyway, I am sure you are going to be just fine here” Sasha told me, opening the door and heading towards the kitchen. I tried my best to take in all the surroundings so I would be able to find my way back. I wanted to blend with these people, not to be a burden and surprisingly I didn’t find it that difficult. Ella was waiting for us in the kitchen sipping from a big cup. The
