Rosalind We heard a horrid scream from the surgery room, and we all looked knowingly at each other. Doctor Sir Jerry had a satisfied smile on his face, and he gestured me to come and follow him.  "You stay here first. Come in after a few minutes," he instructed Axel and Sebastian.  The two men nodded their heads as Doctor Sir Jerry and I went back to the surgery room.  Once we got there, I couldn't help but gasp out in shock. Luna Kirsten's once beautiful face now morphed into one that looked out of this world—almost extra-terrestrial. Her cheeks were as sharp and angular as knives, her chin elongated, her lips protruding, her nose as high as towers, and her eyes were different sizes.  I covered my mouth with my hand to suppress the bubble of laughter that threatened to come out of my mouth.  "What the hell did you do to my face?" she exclaimed, her voice muffled from the implants and fillers on his face.

Rosalind"Trina?" Axel asked, his eyes showing recognition. I looked the girl up and down and suddenly felt insecure. She was wearing a skin-tight body con dress, and it looked like she and her friends were out for a party. They had shiny purses in their hands and had an extravagant aura to them, so I hid behind Axel as they conversed. I don't know who this girl is, but I could tell that she and Axel know each other by the way they gazed at each other. "Yeah, I'll see you at the club!" Trina shouted out to her friends as she jogged over to where we were. She peered up at Axel with shining eyes and displayed a playful smile on her face. "Oh, fuck. It really is you!"Axel frowned and scratched the back of his head. "My friends and I were walking towards the club when they pointed over to a hot guy walking ahead of us. I thought that you looked familiar, and I wasn't wrong. How have you been? I

Rosalind"Hi. My name's Leon. You are?" "Rosalind. Nice to meet you," I said politely. I really didn't like the way that he was looking at me, so I just focused my eyes on the pointed edge of the table. I could also feel the gaze of his three other friends, so I touched my face to see whether it had something on it. I breathed out a sigh of relief when they finally turned their attention to Trina and others. "Hey, move over for the pretty lady," Leon said. Trina's eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean? Us pretty girls are already seated."Leon scoffed, then glanced back at me. "Not you. Scoot over so the prettiest lady could sit down."Trina clicked her tongue and instructed the other girls to make some space. Honestly, I just wanted to go home because I felt like I didn't belong here. However, I just couldn't leave Axel all alone. I sighed and tried to sit down, but I noticed that the only space le

TrinaI bit my lips and clenched my fists in anger as I looked at Rosalind dragging Axel away from the club. "You okay, Trina?" Deborah asked, trying to console me, but I slapped her hand away and continued glaring at their retreating figures. I closed my eyes and took in deep breaths because I couldn't afford to have an outburst right here. It'll only ruin my reputation. I knew from the start that Rosalind was a good-for-nothing girl. Yes, I was a little bit dazed when I first saw her because she was so pretty—wait, scratch that! She's pretty but not as pretty as me. I hated the way that Axel looked at her and even hated how innocent she was acting. I know deep down that she's just keeping up that persona to impress men. She most likely has a bitchy personality in reality. To be honest, I was really happy when I saw Axel walking down the street, but she just had to ruin it for me. I've liked Axel since high school bec

RosalindI didn't think that this day could be even more eventful, but it did. As we were only a few minutes away from Doctor Sir Jerry's Clinic, rain suddenly started pouring down from the sky. It started off with just light droplets, but it eventually felt like it was raining cats and dogs. I held onto Axel's arm and dragged him to a small waiting shed on the side of the road. I huffed as I dusted away the water droplets off of my sweater."Talk about bad luck. Why did it have to rain right now? Couldn't it wait until we arrived at the clinic?" "Let's just go. We're only a few blocks away from the clinic anyway."I looked at him incredulously and gestured towards the rain. "We're going to be soaked by the time we get there. Let's just wait it out.""Come on. Are you afraid of a little rain?" he taunted. I scoffed. "A little rain? It's literally storming."I stuck my hand out of the shed and show

RosalindI jinxed myself. I told Axel yesterday that I wasn't the type of person who got sick easily, but look at me now. After dancing in the rain last night, we went straight to Doctor Sir Jerry's clinic to fetch Sebastian and get our luggage. They were surprised to see us drenching wet, but we didn't have time to explain or get changed anymore since we were about to miss our train schedule. We boarded the train at 11:00 PM like usual and got changed in the bathroom of the train. It was already 1 AM when we arrived at the palace, so we all fell asleep right away. When I woke up, my head felt heavier, and my skin felt hotter than usual. I groggily got up to take my temperature and groaned when I saw that it was 38.5 degrees Celsius."Fuck," I muttered under my breath while going under the covers once again. My forehead was sweating, and I felt hot yet cold at the same time. "Just sleep," I whispered to myself, but it

RosalindI woke up feeling much better than before. I reached up to my forehead to feel my temperature and was surprised to find out that the towel was still cold. Axel must have kept replacing it any chance that he got. I opened my eyes and smiled when I saw Axel's face near mine. I tilted my head to the side as I observed his handsome features. "This really isn't fair," I whispered. "How could you be so handsome?"He stirred in his sleep, so I quickly yet quietly moved away from him. I watched with wide eyes as Axel groaned and moved around. I let out a sigh of relief when he finally calmed down and went back to sleep. Since I wanted him to rest more, I quietly got up from my bed and tiptoed out of the room. I was also starving and thirsty from not being able to drink or eat all day, so I decided to go to the kitchen. I just hoped to the Moon Goddess that no one was there. When I got to the kitchen, I w

RosalindI scoffed, trying to play off the nervousness in my heart. "What are you saying? Me? Liking Axel? I told you that this was about my friend."She gave me an incredulous look. "Sis, no offense, but you don't have any friends.""I do!" I argued, still keeping up with my little white lie. She sighed and massaged her temples. "Okay, let's just say that I believe you."I pouted because it really felt as if she didn't believe me."You're only going to find the answer to your question if you ask.""But what if he doesn't like me?" I asked, caving in. She sighed. "Have you even told him that you like him yet?"I looked down at the table and shook my head. She slapped her hands on her thighs. "See! You haven't even told him! He must be confused as hell too."I threw my head back in frustration. "I'm scared, okay? I've never felt this way before, and it just sucks that I feel like he

Rosalind"Why are you wearing that?" I asked, my voice breaking in the end. He looked down at his outfit. "What? This? These are my favorite pajamas," he justified. I nodded my head. "Yeah, I know. You just wore them yesterday night. Did you wear them again today?""Oh, this? I like this so much that I have multiple pairs."My mouth went agape. That never crossed my mind. "Why? Did it seem like I took it from the laundry basket to wear it again?"I did not say anything in response since I was still shocked that all the three signs that I've laid out were fulfilled in just one night. It hasn't even reached 10:00 PM!"Earth to Rosalind," he said, snapping his fingers in front of my face. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realize that he was once again sitting next to me. I cleared my throat and moved farther from him. "You okay?" he asked. I vigor

RosalindWe were now on our way to Agartha—the place where Luna Aerin currently is. We were already nearing the vicinity, and there were no trains that passed through this area, so we just ended up walking. We were surrounded by tall trees, itchy grass, and different types of exotic flowers. I groaned as I once again scratched my leg, which seemed to be a favorite target for the mosquitoes around here. "Why are you even wearing a dress in the first place?" Sebastian asked, laughing as he watched me scratch my legs for the nth time of the day. I glared at him. "Well, you didn't tell me that we were going to be walking!"He raised his hands up in surrender. "Hey, I disclosed to you the plan yesterday night in your room. It's not my fault that you were not paying attention."I grumbled under my breath and trudged behind them, still feeling grumpy from all the mosquito bites on my legs. We had be
