Chapter 31
“You will give Mister Kent the wrong ideas Carmen.” said a cool mocking voice from behind me and my heart skipped a beat as I saw Marc standing there. Why did he have to look so handsome even when he was sick. I just stared at him not wanting to argue with him.   “Don’t speak otherwise my love, I have our wedding photos to prove that you are my lawfully wedded wife." He said with such possesiveness that wanted to run.   Eric Kent was shaking, and his eyes were angry. I looked at him in despair and knew precisely what he was thinking. He was imagining that I had deceived him. He was furious at me. Shoving a hand around the back of his neck he said briskly, “Excuse me I need to take a shower and change my dress.”   He walked up the stairs and I looked at Marc bitterly. Ada vanished discreetly leaving us alone in the Hall. “My God I hate you, Marc!” I flung at him. “Do you? Marc sneered and his face was Savage. “Wel

Chapter 32
My pulse was beating fiercely, as I considered his motives knowing against my will that I already guessed one of them because he was kissing me and I had not been the only one to become so fiercely aroused. I discovered that as my body was responding to his kisses but Marc was responding the same way. I have to make myself remember other things, remind myself that Marc reacted to all attractive women with the same force. It was a purely physical reaction in him and I was not going to let him use me for some creepy satisfaction of his appetite.Although it had been his own infidelity that had destroyed our marriage, it was already clear to me that Marc felt he was the one with the grievances. His whole attitude indicated that he felt I was the one to blame. I spun around and started walking downstairs as I had to control myself and not allow my emotions to get better off me and the first thing first, I need to call up my son as I have not spoken to him

Chapter 33
“One moment Carmen!” He said harshly grasping my arm as I was about to move towards the door. “ I will sign the divorce papers only if you stay for another week here and I have invited Ria’s in-laws for dinner this evening and as you are my wife it would be discourteous, if you were not to join as they know you are still my wife.” “And what if I disagree…..” I said anxiously.“Then you will not get your passport back.” “You mean your present lover Bella Costa will be here and I need to entertain her as I am still your wife in papers.” I snapped angrily as I felt so disgusted at the thought of meeting her again. “May I go now, or do I have to ask for your permission to do that? And anyway your lover is coming so why do you need me?” As there was no point in arguing with him, I was having a migraine.“Be careful Carmen! he said softly. “Don’t go too far! And remember don’t be rude to my guests as they are Ria’s in-laws”“Oh, don’t worry Marc. I may not be a fit wife for you but I am ca

Chapter 34
I felt an overwhelming sense of loss as I saw how lovingly he looked at Ria. Had Marc ever looked at me that way? I couldn't remember involuntary as I glanced up at his face to find my eyes held by the brooding anger of his own. I felt my legs begin to tremble at the icy gaze that he was giving me. I knew I had done something impulsive but I don't regret it as it atleast came me a sense of relief to know that Ria was happy with Drake. Couldn't Marc for once come off from that arrogant shell he has built around him and become the man I had loved once but I know it was my wishful thinking. I shouldn't hope for too much when it comes to Marc as he was unpredictable.    “Come along Marc let's go to the dinner table and have dinner, “ Bella said clinging persuasively to Marc’s arm and pulling his attention towards her. For a moment I thought he would shake the other woman away and chastise his wife publicly in front of his guest but his self-cont

As I entered the drawing-room, everyone was trying to ignore me. Only Ria came towards me with a sympathetic expression on her face and drew towards her to the couch where she and Drake were sitting.“Come and sit down, Carmen. I know you are upset.” She said lovingly as I was touched.“No, no,” I said quietly. “Just angry, Marc and I always have that effect on one another.” I added with an apologetic glance in Drake’s direction.” Look, I am sorry about the things I said earlier. They just slipped out. I know that’s a lame excuse and you took it very lightly.” I added quietly.Drake shrugged. “Why should you apologize? I was not offended. A little shocked at first, yes…but it was not such a terrible thing to say and I am forced to agree that the methods that our family use, to choose their children’s partner can be a little unreasonable. I was fortunate,” He said with a smile in Ria’s direction. “The partner chosen for me was the one I would have chosen."“I am fortunate too…” Ria said

Why was it taht he smiled at everyone but not me am I that hateful. It was he who betrayed me with the women who stood beside him yet the blame was all on me that I betrayed him. Am I that easy to bully. Determinedly I forced myself to look away from the imposing figures. why, oh, why, when Marc treated me so badly, did he have this disrupting effect on my senses? I was really pathetic. Even in the middle of the fierce argument I knew that I was not immune from his personality. Physical attraction has a lot to answer for, I thought and I jumped for a second as Carl came behind me and put his possessive hand on my arm .“You have returned! I am glad the room was very dull, without your presence. “ “Really?” I said in laughing disbelief. “How would you know when you were in the garden? ““ I could not bear the room anymore without you, so I went out for fresh breath. “ He confessed.“I see. Are you going to sit down? ““No, I don't want to sit right now. But if you allow me, we can t

Chapter 37
“Let my wife go, Carl!” Marc shouted very loud and clear and I could hear the anger in his voice. And I heaved a sigh of relief as tears rolled down my cheeks. And I knew at that moment that  I will forever be indebted to Marc for this as he saved me from losing my dignity but I did not know how to face him now because of my stupidity.  I have caused him a  big trouble. After being released abruptly from Carl’s grip, I felt myself falling weakly to the ground. It was Marc’s grip that supported me and helped me to regain my balance. As he held me tightly. “Marc, listen to me, Please!” I said pleadingly. “Go back to the house, Carmen! "Marc ordered harshly. “You can go through the inner door of the garden and make sure you are not seen….you are not a pretty sight right now,” He added angrily. “Go, now ! I have a business to attend here,” Staring at Carl with a loathsome expression. I knew that expression and was aware o

Chapter 38
The desire that I had held back all these years was wanting to come out as his hands were moving all around me and my body was aching for his touch.“Please Marc! I want you.” I said shamelessly raising my hands to his chest unable to disguise the weakening emotion turning my lips to water. I couldn't help it. With almost like an animal growl he dragged my resistant body against his and I no longer pretended to repel his advances. My arms tightened around his neck, so that my fingers were buried in his hair and I pressed my body close to his holding nothing back, in my newly acknowledged love for him.“Carmen I want you!” He groaned trailing his lips sensually over the soft skin off my shoulders and pulling away from the shoulder strap, with an unsteady hand and kissing my mouth with his own like a starving man suddenly presented with a feast.“ Marc Marc! please love me! ““Your dress helps me with it,” Marc muttered huskily struggling for a mome

I woke up with a start, to find my body dripping with sweat and the bedroom light still burning fiercely. I got up and turned off the tormenting light, my whole body aching with unfulfilled longings.  I still responded so passively to his touches and I knew no man can ever replace Marc as he could make me untrollable and it was only he who could turn me wild and do things which no one woud ever think of. I sighed and turned over restlessly as I threw myself again on the  big bed and after some time I went off to sleep. When I woke up next the sun was shining brightly through the window and there was the smell of coffee from the small tray bedside table. Ada must have just left it there, I thought struggling quickly and reaching out for my watch, kept on the bedside table.“OMG! It’s one in the afternoon.” I had overslept. I gasped for breath and then quickly hurried out of the bed and drank the cup of coffee. I was

Chapter 40
“Oh God ! “I put a shaking hand over my mouth. “When you crashed ?” “When I crashed,” he agreed thickly, those little flames in his dark eyes. " I pulled myself together. “Now I suppose you are trying to claim, it was my fault you crashed?” He shot me a disapproving look and said, “It was my fault for being so stupidly affected by seeing the notice you had sent me that morning. If I had my mind on what I was doing I would have seen the lorry before I hit it.” “Too bad, that for once your concentration wasn't working properly.” I marked coldly. “I thought nothing ever came between you and your work.” I had gone too far I knew that as I saw the little flames burst into my face. I got to my feet to run but it was too late. Marc had captured me in his arms his hands were violent and his mouth closed with mine. I knew I had been waiting for it ever since I woke up. It was a long way past pretending. I wanted to feel that hard male body forcing me down onto the bed and I did not even be
