Chapter 101
Jack POV I scream “No!” as I hear the heart monitor flatline. I cannot lose Sarah. Not now. She fought so hard. She does not deserve to die. “Do something Jenna!” I yell. “I am trying Jack. If you cannot stay calm, then leave!” she says tersely as she continues to focus on Sarah. The Pack doctor waits for the crash cart. As it comes in, he prepares to bring Sarah back to me. He zaps her chest. We all wait with holding our breaths. Nothing. Jenna grabs a needle and stabs it into Sarah’s chest. Again, we wait and again there is nothing. Jenna starts doing chest compressions as the doctor prepares the machine once again. Everyone stands back as the doctor zaps Sarah’s chest. We pause. And finally hear a faint blip. “It is weak, but we have her back. Luna, if there is anything you can do, we could use the help,” the Pack doctor says as he turns away from Sarah. It was a weak pulse. It was not strong as it had been. Jen

Chapter 102
Jack’s POV It has been hours since they took Sarah away. I felt our bond waiver a few times and at least I knew she was continuing to fight to live. Fight to survive. It was not right. Not right that she was in this situation after fighting and destroying the warlock. The waves of fear roll over me repeatedly as I continue to relive the moments watching her fight on her own. I did not know if I would ever forgive Miranda for what she did. My logical mind knew that only Sarah had the ability to fight the warlock. But my heart almost broke multiple times watching the scene unfold before my eyes. Knowing you were useless in helping your mate was a horrible feeling. And here I was once again feeling useless as I waited for the doctors to try and save Sarah. I heard the door open and before I could say anything Lucas spoke softly to me. “She is strong, she will get through this,” he says. If anyone understood the anger I felt, it was him. W

Chapter 103
Josie POV Sam and I had gone back to our room in the Pack house after the first day of waiting. Jack and Lucas would not leave so we brought clothes and food for them. We were into day three of waiting for some type of movement from either Sarah or Daniel. Nothing had happened so far. Sarah was not shocking that it was taking her time to heal; however, Daniel had the medical staff perplexed. For some reason he was simply not waking up. He had no obvious physical ailments. His wounds from his torture had almost healed completely. Without his wolf helping it was taking a bit longer, but they were progressing as you would expect of a human. Lucas was frustrated and was talking about taking Daniel back to the Harvest Moon Pack. He wanted his own Pack doctors to look him over. But Adam had convinced Lucas to give Jenna one more chance to scan his body before they leave. Jenna was convinced it was something else at play, but she could not find

Daniel POV I could hear everyone around me. Most importantly I heard everything Lucas has said to me. I could not understand why I was not able to wake up and communicate with Lucas. I wanted to hold him and assure him I was not angry with him. None of this was his fault. This – whatever it was – was bigger than all of us. It was only this morning that I had become aware that I was being injected with something. Emma had spoken to me this morning while she injected me with a fast-acting drug that continued to keep me in limbo. The idea was to continue injecting me until it would seem like I was dead and then the Council could take my body and bring me back to life to continue serving the Council. I had felt such anger and despair as I realized I had no way to communicate what was happening to Lucas. We were so close to being together that I could not believe this was happening. I felt rage surround me, yet I could not express it. I had n

Chapter 105
Sarah POV The Pack doctor rushed into my room and checked my vitals. I simply sat and stared at Jack. Stared into his eyes. “Well Sarah, it looks like you are back,” the Pack doctor says as I simply turn and smile at him. I still had a really dry throat but was drinking water slowly so as not to upset my stomach. Jack simply held onto my hand, holding it to his lips waiting impatiently for the Pack doctor to leave. As soon as he did, Jack was in the bed with me holding me tightly in his arms. Nobody else had come yet, “I have not told them you are awake yet. I want a few minutes with you to myself,” he says. I smile and snuggle in closer. I am still tired, but finally awake. “When can I leave?” I whisper. Jack smiles at me, “As soon as the doc gives the go ahead, I am breaking you out of here,” he promises me. ‘I should be able to go home today, nothing left for me to do but recuperate,” I remind him as he simply holds me tighter.

Chapter 106
Lucas POV “What the hell are you doing here?” I ask Alpha Thomas. Alpha Thomas spares me a brief glance before walking toward Daniel. I step in front of him. “I will not hurt your mate, Lucas. Stand down,” Thomas says as he walks around me to stand by Daniel. I grab his arm pulling him away from my mate. “Anything you need to say can be said across the room. You will have to excuse me. One attempt on his life by the Wolf Council is all I am willing to tolerate,” I growl at him. He looks at me in surprise. “What are you talking about?” he snarls at me equally pissed off. I look to Daniel who nods. “One of your own tried to inject poison into Daniel. Her goal was to make us believe he was dead so she could take him back to the Council, was what she advised us before I killed her,” I reply darkly. “Who?” Thomas asks. “Emma,” Daniel forces out. “Emma? What the hell does she have to do with any of this?” Alpha Thomas says more to himself

Chapter 107
Lucas POV I sat there in stunned silence as I watched Daniel walk out the door and out of my life. I knew logically it was for only a short period of time, but my fear for him and the mission he was about to embark was tense. I did not know all the players. I did not know who Daniel could trust. I did not know if he should be trusting this Alpha Thomas, but I had no choice but to do as Daniel requested. Trust and believe in him. I stood up and grabbed the shirt Daniel had just discarded. I brought it to my face and simply inhaled my mate’s scent. It would be a few months before I would be able to scent him. As I stood there, I heard the door reopen. A part of me hoped that Daniel had changed his mind, but as I turned to the door, I saw Sarah standing there. “I saw Daniel walk off. What does that mean?” she asks softly walking in and closing the door behind her. She moves closer to me wrapping her arms around my waist and resting her hea

Chapter 108
Josie POV Jenna and I had been driving for about an hour when she indicated we were almost to her old Pack, the Black Crescent Pack. Throughout the entire situation, I had never forgotten that I was told about a letter my birth mother had left for me. Jenna and I shared a mother, so I approached the subject with Jenna. Once I reminded Jenna about the letter, she immediately wanted to go and retrieve it for me. I would not allow her to go alone, so we were on our way together. Of course, we had warriors with us. There was no way Adam, or Sam would permit us to go completely alone. And after everything that had happened, Sam, Jack and Adam needed time to catch up and get things back on track. Adam had managed on his own; however, having Sam and Jack back meant he could help Jenna prepare for the arrival of their pup in the coming weeks so he was bringing Sam and Jack up to speed on what they had missed. Jenna and Adam were still the keepers o

Chapter 109
Josie POV “You are joking right?” I ask the stranger. I know he looks familiar but to say we are related might be a stretch. “Not at all. We have the same mother and father,” Shane replies to me. I look at him confused. No. It could not be. But how? “How?” I ask him before he smartly answers, “Do you need a story about the birds and the bee’s sis?” Shane taunts. “You know what I mean. How can you possibly be my brother? I only have one brother and he is dead,” I say coldly. He looks at me surprised, before he covers up the shock on his face. “Then who is the Rogue King?” he asks. “Who are you?” I ask him again avoiding his question. The last thing we need is another wanna be Rogue King. “It is all detailed in this letter. The good, the bad, the ugly,” he says as he continues to hold onto his rage. I continue to protect Jenna from Shane. I have no idea who this guy is, but he certainly does not seem stable. “How can this be, Shane

Chapter 110
Josie POV That bitch! Who the hell does that to their own pup? Who puts themselves first above the well-being of their own flesh and blood? I do not believe she would have been any different if she had taken Eric and myself when she left. Frankly this letter was simply a way of easing her guilt. She had no intention of trying to find us. I sat there for a few moments letting myself feel the emotions I wanted to feel. Hurt, anger, loss … they were rolling inside of me making me bitter at the thoughts of what that woman had done to all of us. Was she really a victim in all of this? And the way I understood the story she left as soon as we were born. Clearly that was not the case. Even with wolf healing, there would be some time required to heal. Whatever. I could not afford to think about it any longer. I had a brother I had to think about. Calling to the warrior, he came around the corner clearly not far away from me. I quickly wiped
