Chapter 91
Sam POV I spit as Lana’s lips left mine. I was disgusted that she had tried to kiss me. She laughed as she moved back, “It will not be long Sam and you will be wanting my kisses. You will crave my kisses,” Lana says to me as she walks across the room to look at something I cannot see. As she turns, she has what looks like a vial of liquid. “You see this sweet Sam? This is the potion I need to inject in you to reverse your bond with that bitch,” she says to me. I feel a cold sweat break out over my body. Once a mate was bonded, it would feel like death if the bond was broken. I did not know how it would impact me, but I damn well knew how it would impact Josie. I said nothing to Lana. I would give her no indication I was bothered or concerned with her threat. I tried to shift my arms in the restraints but had no success. I had not been injected with anything so I could feel Chance my wolf. He was equally pissed off. We knew our capture

Chapter 92
Josie POV Regrouping with the warriors we review the maps we had printed off before we left the Harvest Moon Pack, one last time. We would need to go in as quiet as possible, hoping that these idiot Council members did not already give away our presence. Once everyone was comfortable with their missions, we all shifted while carrying our clothes in our mouths. Excitingly my wolf Alexis returned once Sam and I marked one another – Sam does not know yet. Alexis and I had not had a chance to shift in some time so my shift was slightly painful and would be until we could get used to the shifting again. There was a time when clothes would be scattered around the Pack territory for unexpected shifting; however, I could not rely on what used to be. I start to lead the way toward the Pack house, with Lucas, Jack, and Sarah covering both sides of me. The warriors were behind us with a small number of the Council members following us. Cowards. As we

Josie POV I hear ringing in my ears, as I feel myself dragged off to the side of the room. I can hear Lucas and Daniel yelling and pounding on the door trying to break in. However, they cannot get to me. I do not understand why, and I cannot open my eyes to see my surroundings. I try to determine what is around me with my other senses. I try to get Alexis to help me but she is hurriedly trying to help heal me so I can be prepared to fight whatever or whoever attacked me. They stop moving me and I feel nauseous at the sudden stop. “Come on Josie, wakey wakey,” I hear as my face is slapped. It is still sore from whatever hit me, and the tapping is agitating me. I try to open my eyes, but I cannot. I suddenly feel water tossed on my face. I jump at the coldness, gasping for breath. I move quickly feeling dizzy at the movement while I try to sit up. I hear laughter to my right and slowly turn my head. As I suspected Lana was the one who k

Josie POV We hit hard both collapsing to the ground. I am up first but Lana goes low with her vantage point. She swings her leg around knocking my feet out from under me. She is on top of me quickly wrapping her hands around my throat. I hear Sam yelling for help as he continues to fight his bindings. I start to wonder if he does not have a spell on him as he cannot escape and cannot shift. Drawn back to Lana I reach my hands up and wrap them around her throat tighter than she is able to hold onto me. Her eyes start to bug out as I continue to tighten my fingers. She tries to twist my neck but has no luck. I am a statue, and she is unable to move me. Anticipating her next move, I prepare for the shift that is inevitable. Knowing she could not beat me in her current position, she quickly shifts trying to get ahead of me and wrapping her jaws around my throat. I am ready and shift tossing her off my body and against the wall across from me

Lucas POV My head whips around to Daniel. I had reconciled myself with the expectation he would turn Josie over to the Council. When he took responsibility for Lana’s death, I was shocked. What would this mean for his career with the Council? Would he be punished in turn for something he did not do? The lead councilperson stares at Daniel. As if he knows Daniel is lying but he does not acknowledge it. He looks to Josie for a few moments. Josie is holding Sam’s hand tightly as we all stand there in silence waiting for whatever will happen next. Nodding his head curtly, the lead councilperson takes Daniel’s arm pulling him to the SUVs. “Where are you taking him?” I demand as if I have some right to know. “Not your problem Alpha,” the council member replies. “Where are you taking him?” Josie now asks stepping away from Sam. Sam grabs her arm pulling her back towards him. “Well miss, when people do things that are questionable, they are pu

Lucas POV I turned away from my people, emotion clogging my throat. I felt tears in my eyes. How had I been so wrong believing the Pack would not accept me? Lana. Lana had spent years telling me nobody would be able to accept me as I was and explained it was why I needed her. She had caused so much damage for all of us for years. I was glad she was gone. I did not feel anything when she had died. Clearing my throat, I turn back to my Pack members. “Thank you, Beta; thank you everyone. It means the world to me that you believe in me and support me. There is much work to be done here; however, we will leave it to the Council to clean up,” I say to them as they cheer. Sarah comes over hugging me as Jack, Josie, and Sam look on with big smiles. I smile back for the first time feeling a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders. I pull my phone out, wanting to reach out to Daniel as soon as possible. I put the call through but there is no answ

Lucas POV I consider my options. Daniel is my world and I want to simply do as she says. I cannot believe my own mother has become this vicious woman. “What happened to you?” I ask her quietly. She looks at me for a moment and I see a glimmer of my mother in there. “What did not happen to me?” she snarls at me. “I do not know; I am curious,” I reply seeing Sarah and Miranda out of the corner of my eye moving to either side of the witch. I could not refer to her as my mother. The mother I remembered was kind and loving. This woman was a shell of the woman I remember. I could not remember much else, and I certainly do not remember anything painful from our past. “It does not matter now. Now I have moved on, but I want this Pack. It belongs to me,” she says as if she is in her right mind. “It belonged to father’s family,” I remind her. “I should have been given the Pack as part of our parting, but he reneged on that deal,” she says angri

Miranda POV “We need to go back there,” I say quickly as Sarah and Lucas look at their dead mother’s body. I know they are overwhelmed but now I have an idea where they may be holding Daniel. “We need to move quickly before he moves Daniel,” I add as Sarah whips her head around to look at me, “What do you mean?” she asks stepping closer to me. “He will have felt their bond break; we need to move quickly,” I say again trying to get them all rallied around so we can teleport out and back to the clearing where Penelope said Daniel was. He was right under our noses. What did that mean? It was a riddle. “Sarah, when we get there use your powers to do a reveal spell,” I say to her. “What am I trying to reveal?” she asks as everyone comes closer to both Sarah and me. Before we take hands, I say to her, “A door, an entrance something that will take us to where an underground bunker may be.”. She looks at me in surprise, “Of course,”

Chapter 99
Sarah POV I knew everyone was safe from the warlock’s reach so I could focus a hundred percent of my attention on destroying him. From the corner of my eye, I saw that Daniel has passed out from his injuries. The poor man probably felt relief that help was so close to him. Or he simply could not take anymore. I knew everyone was counting on me to destroy this warlock … and that is what I intended to do. I had two advantages in this fight. I was powerful, and I had my wolf, Abby, to help me. As I leapt across the space, meeting the warlock in mid-air, I released my claws trying to grab the warlock’s throat. I managed to claw him deeply but not before he quickly mended the slices with his own abilities. He could not heal, but he could throw up a spell quickly to prevent a lot of blood loss. He whips himself around and stares at me. “So, you want to play dirty, Sarah?” he says as he stalks towards me. I throw lightning bolts his way buying

Chapter 100
Sarah POV Pain was racing through my entire body. I could feel the claw like pain where the warlock had me bound. It was like tentacles of barbwire were tearing through my flesh. There was no blood, but the feelings were intense. I could hear Jack pleading with me to fight. I was desperately trying to hold on, but the pain was wreaking havoc with my mind. I needed to hold on just a few minutes more. I needed to have the warlock at his prime. Ready to attack me with all that he has. The more Jack yells the more intense the pain becomes. His distracting the warlock is intensifying the warlock’s anger. This is what I need to get him to the point of unleashing his worst. I feel tears rolling down my cheeks. The pain continues to increase. Just as I move, the warlock catches me out of the corner of his eye. I realize I have one chance to get this right or everyone will die. As I see the warlock’s eyes shift, I can see he tosses his arms i
