CHAPTER THIRTY
NOAH’S POVToday is the day I dread most in the entire 365 days of the year and each time it comes, it becomes worse to bear as I remember everything that happened and how long people have had to survive with this punishment. One would think that considering how long I’ve lived, this feeling of guilt would get better as each year passes by, but that’s not the case, as it gets a whole lot worse, because I am reminded of all the things I’ve lost and all I’ve made others lose.I was furious, underneath that anger, I was scared and I took it too far, I lost control and everything went haywire. Now look at what I have- happiness, and as much as I try to deny it every day, I feel it blooming in my heart, and every day, as a result of this happiness, I become even more miserable. But today, today just happens to be the day when I have a rush of reasons crowding my mind and reminding me of why I cannot be happy when I made others suffer, reminding me of how incapable I am of being a lead

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
JASMINE’S POV“ You know you could have told me that your transformation would happen in a flash, at least I would have turned away on time,” I say, glaring at him as he drives us towards the mansion.“ Unlike what you believe, werewolves don't go through long agonizing pain while changing, it's just a simple morphing, just like reshaping an object made of clay- and besides, if I had warned you, I would have gotten to see that stunned and lustful gaze in your eyes,” He says to me with a teasing smirk that makes me want to kick him out of the car and make him run all the way back to the mansion in his wolf form, but instead I glare at him and remain silent.“ Thank you, Jasmine, “ He says to me suddenly with a solemn and grateful tone, bringing my eyes back to him. “For what?” I ask him clueless as to the reason for his sudden gratitude. “ For coming to get me,” He says with the calmest and most sincere tone he has ever used.He looks at me directly in my eyes and at this mome

Lien has his mind set on reaching his goal, even with his limited span of time to stay on the earth. The Egyptians had proven to have excellent foresight when they made the desert anti-magic, ensuring that any being who set foot in the desert and tried to claim their treasure would go through agonizing torment first. before they were killed and made to rot in the deserted land and their carcass, used as a sufficient replenishment of its ancient magic. But in every situation, there is always a loophole, and Lien knows this. CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
LIAM’S POV“If that’s the case, then you need to watch her and do it discretely for a while, I cannot afford her getting into trouble right now,” Alpha said and now I’m putting on a shirt, neatly tucked into trousers, a disguise to fit into the mundane appearance of a human workaholic.Which I look ridiculous in.I have to gel my hair to the back to add to the official look I have in mind.If only this human girl hadn’t chosen to be so nosy, I wouldn't be looking like a misfit in my own skin, a stranger to myself, and a clown compared to my usual style.I still wonder why the Alpha had to send me, out of all the willing participants, to babysit a meddlesome human.“ See it and be it Liam – see it and be it,” I say to my mirror reflection trying with great effort not to rip the clothes I have on off my body and throw back on a simple T-shirt and Jean trousers. “ Well, don’t you look dashing?” Alpha says with a mocking tone.“ This is so not the right time to tease me about thi

REINA'S POVWho would have thought that I would be partnered up with a literal Greek god?“ Okay then Hot dawg, let’s get to work,” I say to him and see his eyes narrow at the nickname I just used on him.Like I care if he doesn’t like it, it’s his fault for being smoking hot, making it extremely difficult to dislike him for showing up out of nowhere and interfering with my workflow.“ We’ll be leaving now?”“ Of course, time is of the essence,” I say with a goofy smile with a finger raised up and once again I’m captivated by his looks as he licks his lips ever so lightly. His unique golden eyes look at me crossly seeing that my eyes followed the movement of his tongue running over his lips attentively. His chiseled structured face brings on a frown as he looks at me weirded out and I almost laugh in his face, amused that my sense of attraction towards him seems to annoy him. He sure would attract a lot of attention with his godly looks and it would be a priceless sight to se

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE
JASMINE'S POV The last stroke through my hair with a brush makes it look wavy and smooth, giving me the perfect look I've been searching for, for the past thirty minutes. As usual, I feel the bubbling sensation of excitement in the pit of my stomach at the thought of seeing Noah and basking in the look of pride on his features when I cast a perfect spell. I miss him dearly with each second that passes. It’s been fifteen hours and twenty-six minutes since I last saw him, but who’s counting? Standing up from the vanity chair I make my way out of the room and into the corridor leading to the training room. Since my furtive attempt to run, due to constant and relentless training from Noah each day, I have become really good at practicing my witch powers which has in a sense made living in the mansion easier. Even with the warm and receptive welcome of everyone here, there's no denying that since I got tremendously better at witching and participated in several compound activities us

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
LIAM’S POVWho would have thought that journalism would be this strenuous, we’ve been walking around one street for about an hour and yet we haven’t gotten any tangible interview. Not to mention that it was the exact same thing when we came here two days ago.I regret why I suggested this in the first place when we would have easily gone to the authorities for the answers to these very direct questions that people seem to have a problem with.Everyone we approach says the same thing, either they don’t want to speak or they don’t have any opinion. Most just shy away from the camera, while some ignorant ones throw insults at us, saying we’ve come to disrupt their peace. It doesn’t help that the heat of the sun is merciless and we haven’t taken a break since we started, all thanks to my hardheaded partner.I groan when she turns to the next alley, walking in front of me speedily with hawk eyes, looking for who to interview next.I’ve watched her for the past hour and even while I

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
REINA’S POV “No! I said no!!” I scream into the phone completely furious and irritated. Why can’t people simply understand? I feel as though I would have to walk up to him and give him a piece of mind because his actions are becoming intolerable. How can he keep leaving milk out of my coffee? “I need a fucking milkshake as coffee Mathew – I swear to God if I stare into another black cup of disappointment, I’ll sue your café.” I’m currently in my office at the news agency and I tried getting engrossed in work but lacked my basic necessity to start my day. So for the hundredth time in the week, I find myself screaming at Mathew who always has to be the one to pick my call and repeatedly keeps pegging me to be a 'black-coffee-person'. Like who in hell likes coffee misery? I place my phone down after I make him repeat exactly what I just said and a sigh escapes my lips as I whisper a prayer to God that I don’t have to feel horrible when the coffee comes. Taking my mind off the c

THIRD PERSON’S POV“He found the Crisient,” the witch Hecate says, with a look of pure evil in her eyes and a enthralled smile on her face.“Yes witch, he instructed that we come to finalize the plans,” the three souls, messengers of the king of the underworld inform her. They stay seated with dark cloaks covering them whole, watching her with rapt attention.“I will begin the final plan immediately, but remind him that this path he’s treading on will not be an easy one. Getting the Crisient was the easiest part of this act of war,” she says, maintaining the smile on her face.“How can he activate the Crisient?” one of the three souls asks, with an intense look on his face, though his appearance becomes more transparent by the second. They had been here for a long time, they had to wait because Hecate put a magical field around the room, sealing herself inside as she performed a ritual that took about thirty minutes. They had no choice but to patiently stand outside as their t

JASMINE’S POV“I don’t think I can take any more of this,” I say to Emerald, as she braids my hair. It’s been a week since I and Noah’s last practice and since then, everything between us has taken a slower grind.I tried to convince myself for the first two days that he was still being reserved because he wanted confirmation of progress with my witch essence. So to convince him, I repeatedly did extraordinary things, some of which surprised me because I had no clue I was that capable. On one occasion, out of pure desperation to get him to see that I am not as puny as I once was, I ignited a flame and made sure it consumed everything around us leaving just both of us as the only exception from its wreckage.I controlled the fire in a manner that its flames didn’t feel uncomfortable around us, but rather warm and soothing. All he gave me was one of his breathtaking smiles that annoyingly still had an effect on me.“I believe he just wants you to work harder before pursuing anyt
