Reaching Peak Happiness
Part IISunday | Sebastian's Condominium“I am a vocalist of a boy band named, Metal Flower,” Sebastian introduce his full self to me.“I also write poems and paint stops occasionally when I'm not occupied with something important.”“Metal flower sounds the best thing to name a band,” I say sarcastically.“It has a deeper meaning. It defies and defines beauty and innocence at the same time. Flower signifies beauty and purity, metal signifies boldness and strength. It's why we came up with the name,” he answers “What do you actually do for a living?” I almost giggle as I fix my position on top of his topless torso. “Me? Well for a living, I sing. If you want to know what my job is then you're not asking the right question,” corrections Sebastian. “What do you mean?” My face contorts a serious expression.“Well, singing is what I do for a living. I feel more alive and happy when I sing. That's not a job. That's more of a passion than a job. But what I really do to survive,” he utters,

And So It Begins
Shades that vary from blue to dark blue spread over the horizon as the sun all the way down. The wind feels cold and comfortable as the vehicle ascends the hill. His pick-up car pulls to a stop just outside of the gigantic gates, presumably the only access to the isolated mansion. It's a castle-like mansion. Made mostly of greystone. The path that leads the car in front of the house extends almost as wide as the structure itself. The surrounding is clean, house architectured aesthetically pleasing. The stone and wood detailed structure is framed by flickering gas-lit lanterns and would look astonishing in the evening. The whole lot that surrounds it is vacant. No overly designed grasses, no pool and no fountain of some sort. Just literally a beautiful mansion made of comfort on the top of the hill, isolated from the life of civilization.“This is your mom's house? I ask, digesting each beautiful detail of the house as I climb down from the car. Sebastian gets down from the other side

None of us responds. We just freeze there in silence, digesting what the display is in front of us—whether it's true or we have something in our heads. But no matter how much we try to shake our

Truths Forever Locked
The minute I arrive at Jordan's office, I am suddenly struck by a volt of anxiety, theorizing how he would react after the revelation yesterday.Out of all the people I have worked for, Crown is the earliest to rise. At seven when I arrive, he's already at his seat talking to someone. I sneak across the room as two gentlemen are preoccupied with their discussion. Jordan is reading a notebook which must have been handed by the man seated in front of him. He looks professional. He must be a project manager reporting to Jordan.I sneak to my office, silently hoping he hasn't noticed me yet. But it would sound ridiculous would it? Hoping not to be seen by the man who literally is with you the whole day. “Keila.” Jordan's nonchalant voice is enough to send a crumbling sensation inside my stomach. I swallow hard, slowly delivering my attention to the man.“Mister Crown?” I manage to speak, in a whimper of course.“Make me a coffee please,” he says coldly, eyes still intact with the pages.

His Other Talents & Other Side
It's past seven in the evening when I arrive at Sebastian's condominium. I have already left my apartment to live with Sebastian. It was his idea. Saying it would be better for us to live together on the same roof. Less bills, less rent and less hustle. When I got inside of the condominium, what greets me is the stomach-aching scent that is coming from the kitchen. I sneak my way to the kitchen and find Sebastian preoccupied with what he's making. He looks so hot—topless and covered only by the apron. His back is well-defined and each movement his arms make would force the muscles on his back to flex. Now I'm starving. But I doubt it's because of the smell.“I’m surprised. I didn't know culinary is also an expertise in your hands,” I comment as I toss my handbag on the couch. I hear his soft and short laugh. One that indicates he is well aware of me.“What can I say? Surprise is an element I enjoy. Perhaps I intended to let you discover my talents a little late that it should have,” h

Hope Is A Dangerous Thing
Mister Crown, me and his chauffeur are on our way back to his company. I am sitting next to the driver seat while mister Crown situated himself in the back on his own. We just went to a project, checking how everything is going. It was a big construction site and it is rumored to be the next tallest hotel in Manhattan and could accommodate a thousand people. It almost impressed me. If only it's not because of the incident hours ago that's been bothering me until dawn. The city lights pass like a blur across the window of his Rolls-Royce and I contemplate the view as we drive. I let my forehead down against the glass for as long as I remember. It had been difficult. This brain of mine that just couldn't take its attention from what happened earlier. It did take me off guard. It did take me by surprise, and perhaps that's the reason why it managed to devastate me greatly. Because I wasn't expecting it. I wasn't expecting Sebastian to act like that. To yell at me like that. He's the onl

Suspicions Often Are True
“Holy shit!” Jean exclaimed in pure shock.“Sebastian proposed to you?”I waddle my fingers with pride, showing off the beautiful ring that Sebastian gave to me last night.“I wasn't actually expecting for something like this. Honestly I was sure a simple apology, hug and kisses would do the trick,” I reply, admiring the beautiful metal with what seems to exhibit its diamond stone.“You mean Sebastian shouted at you for being careless and in exchange, a way to make it up to you, he proposed to you?” There's a slight perplexity in the way she let these words out—something I don't bother giving much of an attention to because I poured all of my notice to the ring.“Yup.” I smile.“And you said yes?” “Who wouldn't?”“That’s not much of a good trade,” Jean suddenly says. I glue a judging stare at her as I try to process what she actually means.“What do you mean?” I question, brows raising.“You only know Sebastian for three weeks, Keila. I don't think getting engaged is a good move,” Je

The Luckiest Woman On Earth
Friday morning wakes me up with a surprise. I struggle to get out of the bed as my arm aims for my phone that's been ringing for like a minute now and has been the main cause of my early rise. I sneak clumsily off of Sebastian's captive and he groans in response to the slightest movement I make. I reach for the phone, adjusting to the intense light. Kim is the name that reads. All of a sudden, sleep is no longer within me and I'm suddenly as alert as an FBI agent. I answer the dial, placing it next to my ear.“Kim?” I exclaim, shushing myself afterwards as comprehension comes to me that Sebastian is still asleep.“Hi, sis. How are you? It's been so long since you last called.”“Hello, my dear sister! I miss you. I've been very busy recently so I didn't have time to call you” she answers from the other end with great enthusiasm.“I’m doing fine. How are you?”I head out of the room, the phone still glued to my ear. I walk towards the kitchen and open the fridge. “I'm alright as we

The Truth About Men
Kimberly isn't the type that gets comfortable with someone in an instant. But that fact seems to have become blunt, because at this very moment, Kimberly has been laughing at Sebastian's jokes, pulling her stomach together as she bursts out in a series of loud giggles. Her face becomes flash red and tears are quietly dribbling from the edge of her eyes. After the unexpected gathering with Sebastian, the three of us cease the short opportunity to introduce Kim to my fiance. And after just talking for five minutes, Kim figures she likes him. She roots for him. She wants him to marry me. I mean who wouldn't? Sebastian definitely has everything a man craves. He has the look, the height, the humor and he can entertain any guess well. “Be Seeing You.”
The cab pulls to a stop just outside of the towering heights and large bulking width of Crown building. After dropping Kimberly to her hotel, I asked for the driver to take me to my location as soon as possible. Jordan Crown is the type of person who despises being late even for just five seconds. But no need to worry though. I still have two minutes, which I believe is enough to get me to the top by an elevator express. As I rush through the glass doors several employees greets me, which in response, I greet back. I head towards the elevator in a flurry of motion, almost tripping on my heels on my steps. I climb in, only the person occupying the small room. The elevator doors begin to shut and my bothered heels cannot help but tap against the floor in a nervous rhythm. If I am not mistaken, this'll be the first time I will be late, not even exceeding a minute late, just for a few seconds, so technically I shouldn't be considered late. All reasons and excuses come to mind as my uneas
