Chapter 21: Falls
When Aninka said she had everything ready, I never imagined this. After we parked in a prudent place so I could change my dress for a white long sleeve blouse and skirt, veiled stockings and black booties, we walked on the road to an unknown destination for me.We arrived after a few hours to a small cabin far from the city, technically I didn't know the name of the place, but what I could recognize was that it was perfect. On the outside, it looked like an ordinary cabin, but inside it had all the latest furniture and appliances. The decoration was oak style, very modern. It featured multiple photographs of beautiful landscapes. The living room was surrounded by white L-shaped armchairs, in front of which there was a television attached to the wall and multiple sets of children's games.Between the furniture and the wall, there was a mini-library, in which there were multiple sleeves that caught my attention one hundred percent."Wow!" said Viktor as he ran to the table where the mult

Chapter 22: Injuries
After breakfast in an uncomfortable silence. Aninka, who I would say is the soul of this group, made us change and go around the place. You could feel the discomfort of the guys for miles, but they didn't say no to Aninka's ideas. Since it was either that or listen to her complaining all day and truth be told, I'd rather walk around and distract myself than be cooped up listening to Aninka's countless complaints. Even if I'm not very well on my feet, I'd rather walk.Aninka knew they hated each other, though she didn't know why, yet she was determined that those boys would at least get along. It must be hard to have the boy your brother hates as a boyfriend."Sofia" Aninka calls me "Don't you think he's cute?"I just nodded. To tell the truth, it was a very nice place, which was different from the places I've been to. In the big cities I've lived in, there was everything but silence. Something that could be enjoyed here, not to mention the great one hundred percent natural scenery on o

Chapter 23: A long way
"How many times has this happened to you?" Esteban asks pointing to my foot."More than I'd like" I comment offhandedly."Should I be worried?" Esteban asks."You don't need to. I'll just need some ice for the swelling, pain pills and some rest" I comment."Wow, you're brave" Esteban comments and I snort "No, seriously. If you were Aninka, I'd be screaming my head off as she says her last words".I smile"It's normal to act like that, when you're not used to pain.""And you're used to it?" asks Esteban."More than I'd like to admit" I comment remembering all the times pain has come into my life, my friends, my boyfriend, my failure at what I loved the most."Mmm, something tells me we're not talking about your foot" Esteban comments."Esteban, don't start" I say defensively.I've never liked it when they probe more than they should and apparently this guy loves to do it."It's okay" He comments resigned "I promise I won't ask you any more. Since thanks to this little fall I've managed

Chapter 24: Annoying
"My God, Sofia! What happened to you?" asks Aninka worriedly as soon as the kids are inside the house.""I was with your brother, that's what happened.Esteban grunts in annoyance and leaves her on one of the pieces of furniture, to go to his room.Viktor quickly arrives where Aninka and Sofia are and offers her a glass of ice."Thank you, Viktor" says Sofia as she receives the compress."Do you need anything?" asks Aninka worriedly."Yes, for you to help me get to my room so I can wash up a bit" says Sofia."Okay" replies Aninka helping her up.(...)Sofia narrates.I carefully step out of the shower in my sky blue pajamas."Knock, knock" I hear from the other side of the door."Come in" I say as I walk to the bed."Sofia how are you doing" Aninka asks "Esteban told me what happened.""How well" I say not caring about the topic of conversation."He also told me what you needed" comments Aninka trying to keep the conversation from dying."What to be nicer and less stupid?" No, not tha

Chapter 25: Insults
"I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not surrounded by hypocrites, as you say" Esteban says and I feel his breath hit my face as we are face to face and very close. Too close. And worst of all, I don't remember when he got so close to me.His eyes look dark, perhaps from hatred, rage, frustration or a bit of everything he may be experiencing right now. His being gives off darkness, rage and perhaps violence. I don't know why, but just by looking at him I can tell that the calm boy everyone knows is just a facade. However, despite being taller than me, maybe six inches or so; he has a great amount of muscle mass that even with ten years of gym I wouldn't achieve; as well as knowing what I have my ankle immobilized from and that he is in perfect condition, that his being gives off a darkness that anyone would recoil from.Despite knowing my many disadvantages, I do not let myself be intimidated. Quite the contrary, I scoff."I knew your intelligence was low, but I didn't know your degree of s

Chapter 26: Dream memories
I walk in the direction of the door, but Viktor and Aninka stop me."Please, Sofia, think things through" Aninka says as she grabs my arm "I'm not asking you to stay because of my silly escape plan from reality. >> I'm telling you as your friend that I am and not because I'm Esteban's sister and I'm taking his side. Sofia, it is not advisable in your situation for you to go out right now.""I'll be fine" I merely replied."We both know better" Aninka replies "You know you just had an injury to the same foot you previously hurt. That is serious. God knows how much it can affect you going out in that condition. To walk for who knows how long.""There's nothing to worry about because my foot isn't that bad.""How do you know how bad it is if you haven't been seen by a doctor?" Aninka scolds me."Doctors have already seen me" I reply would be "That's why, I know how serious it can be.""I don't understand you" Aninka says confused."You don't need to understand. It's just enough that you

Carl and Taylor, who were in front of the car, were killed because the airbag did not activate and the impact was so severe that several of their vertebrae suffered irreparable damage.Julian and Brenda were close to the door where the second impact was received, so they were severely injured. I was still severely injured and with my foot turned to nothing, since with the accident my foot was imprisoned and badly injured.Lastly, there was Gissela, who was seriously injured because she was close to the door and the car flipped so many times, she was gravely wounded and unconscious. After the car managed to stop turning so many times, someone approached me.A boy with delicate features, white skin, and very badly injured starts to say "I'm sorry! As he tries to find a way to get into our car and try to get us out. But the vehicle was in such bad shape that only a small window at the top could be used to get out.I called everyone and tried to move them, but no one responded. I was in a

Chapter 28: The problem of escaping
Daniel is driving carefully. However, the anger is palpable in the atmosphere."I'm sorry," I say as he drives."Why are you telling me I'm sorry?" he asks without taking his eyes off the road."Because I know how much you hate each other. And without thinking about it, I told you to come get me. That's why I'm telling you I'm sorry.""It's not your fault. Our relationship is so broken that whether you're there or not wouldn't change whether he and I treat each other like this.""However, if you hadn't come looking for me they wouldn't have talked to each other like that."I know it's not my fault that they treat each other like that. But it does make me feel guilty that I argued, because Daniel came looking for me at a place that is owned by Esteban. Analyzing the little I managed to hear, it makes me think that, if it is true that they detest each other and that it is not a child's game, but, that there is something big between them. What is it? I have no idea. But what I do know is

Chapter 29: Consequences of escaping
Narrated SofiaAfter several hours on the road, we have arrived at the hotel. Tired from so much that has happened during the last few hours, I jump into bed as soon as I get there. The good thing was that while Daniel was driving, Viktor was already looking for the room keys. So, it was just a matter of arriving at the reception and taking our respective rooms.I breathed in the rich clean smell of the sheets, and after so much tiredness, I fell asleep. Oh, that was my plan until a knock on the door interrupted me.Reluctantly and with great difficulty I got up to open it. To find Daniel with a doctor and two nurses."Are you kidding me?" I say immediately seeing that this guy most likely won't let me sleep until I finish my checkup on my foot.Daniel sighs and replies, "Health is not a joke my dear Sofia. So, as you may have noticed, I'm not leaving until they do the proper checkup."'I knew it' I thought."I'm fine. It's not the first time it's happened to me" I say so that she und

Chapter 30: Strange conversation
Several questions invade my mind. How can I have such bad luck in one lifetime? When I was little, I constantly listened to my father yelling and hitting my mother, as well as the multiple blows my drunken father gave David and me. Then, my parents' divorce.Which to tell the truth was a relief for all of us; since we were all victims of his violent character. But society was even more violent and disappointing. For "a woman cannot carry a home on her shoulders" "surely those children will be delinquents, nobodies, a trash of society. Why should they grow up without a father? Those and many other destructive comments we received, bullying in every school we attended, both for that and for being foreigners was what we always lived. My mother had a hard time getting a job because she was a single mother. So we had to grow up fast to take care of ourselves. At first it was difficult, as we were only 7 years old. However, after a short time we had adjusted. My mother only cared about the
