CHAPTER 11 Go With The Flow
Ross is Ella's husband, and they got married after getting themselves drunk some time ago at the club. Thinking about it, her story was just like Autumn's, just that the latter would not be marrying the man involved in hers. "Yo, girl," she said and immediately sat opposite me. She was surprised to see Autumn looking okay and eating fine, but she wasn't going to jump to conclusions quickly. "Ella called me that you weren't good, I had to hurry here immediately. What's up?" Raya also said as she had her seat. Ross on the other hand sat gently, making her wonder why he was even here in the first place. He's her friend too, but she didn't know he would come. "What's up? Ella told me there was an emergency and it concerned you. Are you good?" "Yeah!" Autumn replied and flashed her teeth at them. "As you all can see, I'm very fine." "Then why did you call me? You told me there was an emergency!" Ella snapped. "Yeah, calm down." She cleared her throat as her friends stared at

CHAPTER 12 First Day
Perry was stunned at her behaviour. He didn't expect her to do her work like an actual secretary. Given the deal between them, he believed she would want to do whatever she pleased and most times would not want to obey him at work, and he had prepared himself for that attitude. Normally, he fires any worker who doesn't do as he asks, and that explains why he has had quite a large number of secretaries over the past few years now. When he didn't reply and just stared at her, she said. "Or is there anything else you would like me to do for you?" "You don't have to try so hard, it's weird." Perry finally replied and turned to walk into his office. His reply made Autumn scoff. She was trying to do her best at her work and he was telling her she was trying too hard. For some reason, it pissed her off a bit. Her face went from the sweet but serious look to a scrunched-up one as she folded her arms and replied to him. "I am only doing my job, and if working for my salary affects

CHAPTER 13 An Ex-fling And A Flirt
"We have, but not that frequently," Olive replied. "He doesn't come down to the café to eat, and even during meetings where we manage to see him, it's always far away. He only speaks to the higher-ups." She paused and then added, "Sometimes I wonder if he's a tyrant boss and that's why he doesn't relate with anyone." Just then, Lisa poked Olive and placed her index finger on her lips in a way to tell her to shut up. "You could get into trouble with what you're saying," she whispered to her. "You have nothing to worry about," Autumn replied. "I'm not going to snitch on you, it's fine. Feel free to talk to me." From there, the topic of their discussion changed. When they were done eating, they exchanged numbers and returned to their several offices. Autumn returned to her office thinking about what Lisa and Olive told her. She wondered why Perry never relates with his workers, and why he never eats at the cafeteria. They had been working for a boss they never got to see unles

CHAPTER 14 A Tyrant
Autumn was the first to notice his arrival. She was a bit surprised to see him, as she didn't know he had gone out. She thought he was in his office having lunch. "Welcome back, boss." She greeted him as he walked in. Immediately, Jax's eyes went wide open and he jerked up from his chair. As soon as Perry got to where he stood, he was already fidgeting. His head hung low as he suddenly gained interest in staring at his shoes while he fiddled with his fingers. "I don't remember setting a meeting with you, so why are you here and not at your work?" Perry asked him calmly, but with a stern look on his face. "I was here to see the new worker and to introduce myself to her and to ask if she needed help in any way," Jax replied and cleared his throat abruptly as he managed to look at Perry, but not in the eyes. Perry smiled tightly and replied. "Your help is not needed here, so you can return to your work now." "I… I'm… Yes, boss. I was about to leave," he said and immediately

CHAPTER 15 Mind Your Business
She scoffed. "How am I supposed to know when you haven't said it? I ain't no witch that reads minds." "What was your last rule when you signed the deal with me, yesterday?" He questioned, his eyes fixated on her. They both stared at each other, as Autumn thought back to the day before. "We mustn't fall in love with each other?" "Your last rule." He repeated, shaking his head slowly to show that that was not what he expected her to say. "The one you said when you were just about to walk out of my office." It was then she remembered what he was asking her. "Oh! None of us must be in another relationship and we mustn't cheat?" She asked and he nodded. "So, what about it?" "I should ask you that. What about it?" He folded his arms and sat back on his chair, staring intently at her where she stood, opposite his chair, his office table in between them. Autumn scoffed. "Did you see me make out with any man?" "I won't wait till you do that before I call you out." He replied b

CHAPTER 16 Unexpected Apology
"What a way to end the day," he said as he stood up to leave the office. Autumn walked in at that moment. "I'll be taking my leave now. Goodnight, boss." "Have a nice evening," Perry simply said and she left the office. He felt the urge to ask her how she was going to get home, considering the heavy outpour. He knew it would be very hard for anyone to get a cab by that time in front of the company, especially when it was raining, but he shrugged it off. "She probably has an alternative," he muttered to himself, not letting her issue faze him. Five minutes later and he was in his car already. The door of the company opened as the driver zoomed out of the building. Perry yawned due to tiredness and just as he was about to rest his back and take a short nap in his car, he sighted Autumn under the rain, waiting to catch a cab. Without giving it a second thought, he orders his driver to slow down the car and pull up to her side of the road. The window of his seat was then

CHAPTER 17 The business Meeting
"Woah!" Elise exclaimed. "He only offered to drop me off because it was raining and I couldn't get a cab." "But sis, your boss is so handsome!" Elise cooed, then turned to her mum. "Don't you think so, mum?" "He sure is, my love." Autumn sighed. "I'm going in. I'm tired and I need some rest." She said and began to walk further into the house with her bags in her hand. Then, her mother called after her, loud enough for her to hear. "Anyway, I believe you can do almost anything because you're very confident, one thing you can do is get on your boss' good side. Who knows, you two might become more than employer and employee?" "I agree, mum," Elise replied. "I wouldn't mind having such a fine man as an in-law." Autumn rolled her eyes as she walked in, ignoring their talks as she muttered to herself. "If only they knew we're married already," then she scoffed before banging her door open and walking in. Autumn checked the time on her wristwatch one more time. Seeing that

CHAPTER 18 Invitation
Perry gave him a small tight smile and replied. "Thank you." Marco signed the contract minutes later. "I look forward to doing business with Tech Trek. Please do me the favour of passing my best regards to your father, Chairperson Moore." He said to Perry and extended his hand for a handshake. Perry took his extended hand in a handshake after signing his end of the deal. "I will contact you when we need our first supply." "We'll be expecting you. It was nice doing business with you, once again and I hope in future endeavours business will be handled just as smoothly." "We hope so too. And it was nice doing business with you." Marco left with his lawyer and assistant, not quite long after, but not after thanking Autumn again countless times. Sawyer put the papers together in a file and handed them over to Perry. "I trust you know what to do with this, boss." "Yes, Sawyer." He retrieved the papers from his hands and stored them away. "Since all is done here, I will take

CHAPTER 19?His black Card
As soon as he left and Perry was about to return to his office, he noticed that Autumn was standing, and she looked lost. "Are you okay?" He asked her with raised eyebrows. "Uhm, yeah," she replied quickly and sat on her chair. "Are you sure you are?" "Yes, sir. I'm very fine." Perry didn't have that. He knew something was wrong with her, but he couldn't fathom what exactly it was. From the way she was panicking, he could tell that she was bothered about something. And being the nosy boss he was, he decided to push the discussion further. "If you're fine like you claim you are, why are you panicking?" He asked. Then, he bent over, his face now very close to hers. Her eyes went wide open in shock as she felt the closeness between her and Perry. They both stared into each other's eyes without a word, only then did Autumn take note of how beautiful his dark brown eyes were, and his full eyebrows. She was lost in the beauty of his face and eyes when he spoke, making her

CHAPTER 20 Breakfast In The Cafe
Autumn did not leave her room and made sure her door was locked until early the next morning. She rushed out of the house quietly, very early the next morning, to avoid her family members and their questions. She knew she would still tell them eventually, but she just wasn't ready for it yet. Since she didn't have time to take breakfast at home, she branched at a coffee shop that was very close to their firm. On entering the café, she sighted Jax, who was also having breakfast there. She planned to act like she didn't see him, but he saw her almost at the same time she did him. So, she had no choice but to go to his table because he motioned for her to come and join him, with his hands. She got to his table and had her seat opposite him. "Good morning," she greeted. "Morning to you too, miss," Jax replied while sipping his coffee, but his eyes remained glued to her face. He couldn't help but notice her new look. "Are you a regular customer here?" She asked him, noting the
