CHAPTER 51 The Threat
"Yes, there's something I'd like to tell you," Perry suddenly began to approach her. Her heart began to beat heavily. She knew that at moments like this, the main character walks up to the girl and confesses his feelings for her and they seal it with a kiss. As soon as Perry got to her front, closing the distance between them, her eyes opened wide as if she had seen a ghost.   His face turned serious at that moment, as he stared into her eyes for a couple of seconds. His eyes went down to her lips and he unconsciously bit his. Autumn noticed all this, and her heart raced even more. She knew what was about to happen and she was ready for it.   As she was about to close her eyes, he leaned in even further and placed his mouth on the crook of her neck. The heat from his breath tingled her skin, as she blinked her eyes a couple of times. "The water is fully boiled. Is this how you'll waste my resources when you start living with me?" He muttered, then smiled before leaning back

CHAPTER 52 Moving Out
"And make sure you call me if anything happens, okay?" Becky said to Autumn for the last time that evening. Autumn nodded her head and suddenly, Becky pulled her into a hug.   "I won't miss you. I won't miss you at all. But this is for the best, I guess," she muttered as she sniffed and used her free hand to wipe her teary eyes. "Mum, are you crying?" Autumn asked, a look of surprise on her face. "You never act like you care and all that stuff, and now you're crying because I'm going to live somewhere else?" "I'm not crying, and I won't miss you at all," she defended herself quickly. "I'm only seeing you off." "Then, why are you hugging her that tightly if you're never gonna see her again?" Elise, who was standing in the sitting room, staring at her mum and sister's drama, replied with a disgusted look on her face. "You look like you're going to follow her to her new house if you have the opportunity. " "Hey!" Becky snapped at Elise, then released Autumn from the hug. "I was

CHAPTER 53 The Drive Home
"Tell that to my face," Perry ordered, and she turned around slowly to look at him. Both of them stared into each other's eyes. And for the first time since Gloria, he could swear that he felt his heart race.   Being with Autumn a lot these days, he had stopped remembering Gloria, and it was like he had gotten over her.   He wasn't ready to admit it yet, but he knew he felt something for Autumn already and a side of him told him that she felt the same. "I said I didn't see your texts, is there anything wrong with that?" She asked him with a serious look on her face. He stared at her without a word, and his eyes began to notice all the little details he never noticed about her before.   He looked from her hair down to her eyes, then down to her lips. He felt his heart skip once again and he suddenly looked away without saying anything.   Autumn noticed this, and she felt the urge to question him. "Why did you say you love me when you don't?" She suddenly blurted out. Perry

CHAPTER 54 Perry's Mansion
Autumn's eyes opened wide in awe, as she got down from the car and looked at the gigantic building in front of her. The mansion was all concrete and tall glass windows that gave a view of the mountains, a chance to relax and take in the changing of the seasons from the comfort of an easy chair. Its windows were as shy as eyes, large enough to welcome any ray of sun. The rock walls belonged right where it was as if perchance it had grown up right from that hallowed ground. "Woah," she muttered to herself as she admired the beauty of the mansion. Each corner of the wall was beautifully carved, and the designs were made with complete care. With the combination of dark green and spotless white paint, it was looking like a palace from a fairyland. Greeneries around the mansion were adding more beauty to it. As she admired the mansion, she recalled the small house she lived in with her mum and sister, in which some of the roofings in some parts of the house often leaked during ra

CHAPTER 55 Lonely Motherfucker
When Autumn was done arranging her things in her room, she freshened up and changed into more loose cloth. She tied her hair into a bun and called her mum and sister.   She assured them that everything was going well and that she was done setting down. When she was done with the call, she left her room for the kitchen. Since Perry hadn't shown her around the house yet, she struggled to find the kitchen. Opening the door gently, she was shocked to see Perry in an apron.   At first, she thought he was making dinner, but when she looked closely and listened to what he was muttering, she couldn't help but muffle a peal of laughter. "Uhm, the blender," he said as he read the paper on the body of the appliance. "Since its name is a blender, then that means it's used to blend stuff," he added.   He looked so focused on it that he didn't know Autumn was standing at the door staring at him. "I know this is the gas cooker, but how's this even operated?" He asked himself as he looked a

CHAPTER 56 My House, My Rules
Autumn stared at him suspiciously, then shrugged before opening the book given to her. Her facial expression changed as she flipped through the pages of the book.   When she got to the last page of the book, she flipped it on the kitchen lab and turned to him. "What the fuck is that?" She yelled at him. Perry loved the way she was reacting, so he smiled as he watched her and sipped his juice without saying a word to her. "There are like a thousand rules in that book, what the hell?" She glared at him. "Am I here to live as your slave or something?" She scoffed.   "Even a slave doesn't have to go through so many rules to live with his master!" "You're already disobeying one of the rules," he replied calmly and dropped the empty glass of juice on the slab. "Why are you shouting?" "Why wouldn't I shout?!" She raised her voice again. "Dude, those rules are ridiculous. Didn't you read them to yourself?" He shrugged. "Well, it's my house. And guess what? My house, my rules."

CHAPTER 57 Memories
Perry was shocked. While he was still processing her attitude toward him, she walked back inside the kitchen. She had almost gotten to her room upstairs when she remembered that she hadn't made the tea she wanted to make for dinner. "Damn," she muttered as she returned to the kitchen. Seeing that Perry gave her a scornful glare, she decided to clear herself. "Come on, think about it, why do I need all those rules?" "You asked for them in the car, young lady." He replied, staring at her intently. She rolled her eyes at him as she remembered asking him if he had rules that she had to follow in his house. "I was only joking about it. "Whatever," he turned to leave, "I'll be in the sitting room. Let me know when dinner is ready," he added before leaving. Autumn stood there staring at the door as if she was mad at it. Whereas, she was mad at the man who just walked out of It.   "How the heck has he even been surviving? He has little to no foodstuffs here!" She shook her head an

CHAPTER 58 Spare Me the Talk
Autumn made sure to wake up very early the next morning, even earlier than she normally wakes.   She had planned the night that she'd leave for work before Perry woke up. She didn't want to have any reason to follow him to work so that gossip and rumors wouldn't fly around about them. As she stood up to prepare for work, her mind went to the event from yesternight. When Perry threw the remote control on the television, the remote fell to the ground and shattered, making the batteries in it scatter around the sitting room.   As he passed by her and walked upstairs, she noticed how red his eyes were, coupled with the anger on his face. She knew better than to ask him further about what was wrong. When he was out of sight, she picked up the remote's batteries and fixed them back into the remote control. Then she placed it on a stool and switched off the television before going to bed. "I wonder what happened to him and why he acted like that," she muttered as she yawned and stre

CHAPTER 59 Diamond Ring
"Go in through the VIP parking area," Perry said to the driver and he nodded his head in reply. "Okay, boss," he replied and drove into the firm through the VIP section.   The firm had two parking lots, one which was for the workers and any random persons, and the other for VIPs like Perry, who was the boss himself, his father, Mr. Moore, other dignitaries, and people who came to make contracts with him, including his other business partners.   Autumn, however, was shocked to see this. She had no idea the firm had another parking lot. Now she understood why some of the workers knew nothing about Perry.   He arrives at work in a tinted car, parks his car in the VIP section, and heads over to his office through the VIP elevator, which is guarded by his men.   No random person is allowed to use these services. He doesn't even eat in the cafe. How then would anyone know anything about him? "No wonder he was bent on me following him to work, he knew no one would see us anyway," sh

CHAPTER 60 Pretender
Autumn covered her mouth with her hand, as the realization of what had just happened hit her. "I'm so sorry, I had no idea you were behind me," she apologized to the lady sincerely. "Oh my God!" The lady yelled as she looked at her soiled top. It wasn't all that stained, but she wanted to create a scene out of it. "You wench!" She yelled at her, the whole cafe now looking at both of them. "I am so sorry, I promise I didn't know you stood so close," Autumn continued to apologize to her with a sincere look on her face. "I could get your shirt cleaned up in the bathroom immediately. There are spare clothes in the women's closet, in case of stuff like this." The lady scoffed at her, then stared at her scornfully. With her attitude, Autumn knew she was in for it that afternoon. "What gave you the audacity to speak to me?" She asked her. "Next, you're telling me to change my clothes to the clothes in the closet," she chuckled lightly. "Me?" She pointed to herself, then turned a
