Chapter Thirty-one
Peter's POV; "What the hell do you mean by that? I asked you to do one thing and you haven't!" I snarled, tossing the glass of wine I had in my hand across the room where it shattered against the wall into tiny bits. "What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why don't you ever follow simple fucking instruction?!" Yuri stood at the other side of the room, his expression unreadable. I could tell that he was embarrassed but that didn't matter in the face of the duty I had assigned to him. He was messing things up really terribly. "She's hard to catch and you know that," He replied, his voice notches lower. "She barely ever leaves the Palace and whenever she does, she's never alone. I have seen her twice and she was with Alpha Michael. Trying to intercept them both is like signing a fucking death note and you of all people knows that." Raking my fingers through my hair, I try not to scream out loud. Neither of my plans have worked. Michael is always there to ruin it. If there's a

Chapter Thirty-two
Catherine's POV: "Why are we getting dressed, mum?" Julia asked as I slipped a pink dress over her head. Her pink jacket lay on the bed beside me and I picked it up before placing it on her chest to size her. "We're going out this evening. To the park." I smiled. When I saw how her eyes lit up, I decided I wasn't going to ruin that by telling her that Michael had heralded our walk to the park tonight. I was going to wait for her to see him standing by the car. That would give her no option that to grumpily follow after us since she hated being alone. A knock sounded on the door and it was pushed open. Jason walked in, dressed in a pair of jean shorts and a jacket for the cold. He had a pair of Nike Air Jordan retro shoes on his feet. I frowned, knowing fully well that Michael had gotten this for him. "You don't have that type of shoe," Julia pointed out. "Where did you get it from?" A smile covered his face. "Dad got it for me after I showed him it was what I li

Chapter Thirty-three
Catherine's POV: "Mum!" Julia called out as they rushed out of the bushes behind them. She turned to them with a bright smile on her face. Michael was right behind them, pulling Jason who kept talking in loud tones, pointing behind the car at a chameleon that lay hidden in the dark. I turned to see Julia running towards me. She was happy. I could tell from the way she ran towards me. She threw her arms around my legs, clinging tight onto me and laughing loudly. "Jason! He tried to catch me while we were doing hide and seek." "Just you and him?" Her face fell but she shook her head and her eyes darted over to where Michael stood with Jason. He was pointing something out to him and they both laughed when he said something. I turned back to face her before crouching to her level. "I know you don't like him but we can't deny that he's trying to be friends with you before he becomes your father. You're giving him quite a hard time and I don't think that's nice for him.

Chapter Thirty-Four
Alpha Michael's POV: Our drive back to the Palace was silent. The car felt like a graveyard because neither of the kids or Catherine spoke. Julia must have mouthed off to Jason because he looked like he was mad at me. Of course, I'd gone overboard again. I'd over reacted. I had no idea why Aries, my werewolf, was doing this. Why he got so aggravated each time she made a mention of John and how he took care of her and the kids. It pissed me the fuck out and I wished there was a way I could curb my emotions. My relationship with Julia had gone downhill once again and all I could hope for was Catherine's explanation to the little girl that it was just a minor issue which we had already resolved. I just hoped she was going to buy into it. Julia fell asleep in Catherine's arms while Jason played games on her phone and when we finally got to the Palace, I helped Catherine who had Julia in her arms. Apparently, my little girl had sensed that I was carrying her. She protest

Chapter Thirty-five
Alpha Michael's POV; Soon, I am swerving into the parking lot of the three storey building located on the other end of the city which houses one of my most trusted detectives. Of course, I can handle all of these myself if I want but there's so much on my plate and I don't think I can handle it all at once. I take the steps, as the elevator is already filled up. Usually, Shaft never lets anyone coming to his office use the steps as he wants to remain hidden from the rest of the world. His establishment was located at the top floor of the building and the last two had a dentist's office and a boutique so it was really easy to hide his establishment. There was no sign indicating that he worked there. On getting to the last steps, I find my Beta wandering around and when he sees me, he stops walking and hurries towards me, a look of relief on his face. "Was wondering when you were going to arrive." "Well, here I am," I reply in a hurried tone as I brush past him. "

Chapter Thirty-six
Catherine's POV; Today is slightly gloomy. I don't know why but I feel it in my skin. I haven't seen Michael all morning. When things seem to be getting better, it just goes downhill. I don't want to start making excuses for Michael either but he has been overreacting a lot and I don't even know how to feel. It hurts me terribly that there is nothing I can do about it. I wish there was a way I could make him believe me but hell, I don't trust him either. No matter how I try to make myself forget, I can't take my mind off the fact that he announced that we were divorced at the dinner get together a few days ago. It hurts each time I remember it and no matter how I try not to, it's just there at the back of my mind, reminding me that I mean nothing to him. I am just the mother of his kids and they are all that matters to him. Scoffing to myself, I gulp down the fruit punch one of the maids got for me. I am slightly tipsy but alert enough to know what's happening ar

Chapter Thirty-seven
Alpha Michael's POV: I kept tossing and turning in my bed, hoping that all of these was a dream I was going to wake up from. I'd been in contact with Shaft all night, unable to even sleep a wink even if my body was almost failing me. I was extremely tired, begging for sleep to lift me into the Dreamland but it never came. After my conversation with Shaft, I decided to close my eyes in sleep but it didn't come. So I climbed out of my bed and walked to the table, taking a seat as I thought about Catherine's plea to allow the kids to start schooling. Of course, she was right. The kids deserved an environment where they needed to thrive, to relate with the other kids. Hell, to make friends but not now. Not with how things were going. I was still unable to identify who had masterminded their kidnap. There were so many untied loose ends which I needed to straighten and it was so hard having to do several things, one at a time. But time wasn't on my side either. The eld

Catherine's POV: We had just finished having breakfast and I was watching a show with the kids when the door swung open. We all turned to see Michael walking into the house, his beta tailing behind him. He looked really upset and wasn't even listening as Trenton spoke to him. Jason's chip bag fell to the other side of the chair and he stood to his feet, pushing to the other side as he hurried towards Michael. I couldn't stop him because he was fast. Julia turned from the television and watched Jason towards Michael like she knew what was on my mind. It was always a bad idea to go after Michael especially when he was in a bad mood. I made a silent prayer to the moon goddess, begging that he didn't transfer his aggression to my little boy. As much as I didn't want to admit it, he was really terrible at keeping his temper in check and was always transferring his aggression onto anyone who was there to talk to him. Jason stopped before him and Michael stopped also,

Catherine's POV: We put the kids to sleep. It was something I'd always imagined doing since I could remember; having family and taking the kids to bed together. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about it even when things went rough between me and Michael. When we stepped out of the room, we stood awkwardly beside each other, contemplating on what way to go. It wasn't dark yet. I checked my time to see it was barely eight o'clock. Maybe a little dinner and an early sleep tonight is going to help. I turned to Michael with the aim of telling him I was going to bed but he spoke before I did. "I'm thinking of having dinner by the fountain and I'm wondering if you love to join me?" I blinked once, wondering if I was hearing right. "Dinner by the fountain?" He smiled. "You heard me right. What do you think?" I shrugged. "If you want that, then it's fine by me." He nodded at me. "Alright then, I'll see you in twenty minutes? I need to get cleaned up.

Chapter Forty
Catherine's POV: I burst into laughter at the second pop of the bottle of wine. The first one lay empty on the ground and Michael filed our cups before he looked up at me. "You're tipsy, Catherine." I shook my head and picked my fork. "No! I am not! Why would you say that?" "Because you are," He chuckled and filled his own cup before he looked at me with raised brows. "I don't want to give you another because I know you won't be yourself by the time you're done drinking." Sighing, I leaned against the backrest of my seat. Of course, things felt a tad bit weirder but I was in control of it. I really was. "I might be tipsy but I promise that I am aware of what I am doing." He placed the bottle on the table and took a sip from his cup before picking his fork. "I'll only do that on one condition. Eat up so you can have something laying the groundwork of your belly. You don't want to wake up extremely shitty tomorrow, do you?" "But can I eat and drink? It d
