Chapter 3

In the Miller mansion, Priscilla's mother, Marianne Sacher, flipped through the divorce papers with a wide smile on her face. Her smile was so wide that the edges of her eyes wrinkled up.

"What great news! Pris has finally got a divorce from her good-for-nothing husband! I'll look into your marriage with Pris in a few days, Wade. Does your promise of a jewelry shop as a wedding gift still stand?"

Wade hurriedly patted his chest and assured Marianne, "Rest assured, Mrs. Miller. The day I marry Pris will be the day you become the owner of a jewelry shop."

Marianne was delighted to hear Wade's guarantee. Her daughter, who was a divorcee, in exchange for a jewelry shop. What a bargain!

All of a sudden, she caught sight of a clause on the divorce papers. Priscilla had just agreed to pay Frederick an alimony of ten million dollars. Marianne's expression darkened in disgust.

"That son of a bitch got an alimony of ten million dollars?"

Wade touched the bank card in his pocket guiltily and proceeded to fabricate lies.

"Yes, Mrs. Miller. He even said that ten million dollars is too small of an amount. He demanded a hundred million from Pris! It wasn't until I gave him two hard slaps that he agreed to the divorce for ten million dollars."

Marianne was so gripped by anger that she trembled all over. She seemed so close to collapsing from a raging fit.

It wasn't until a long while later that she finally reined in her temper. "My daughter wasted a huge part of her youth on that scumbag. I'm doing him a tremendous favor by not asking him for reimbursement.

"How dare he take my daughter's money? I'll go get it back from him right now!"

Wade's expression changed instantly. If Marianne were to go asking Frederick for the money, they would find out that he'd pocketed the ten million dollars himself.

"Mrs. Miller, I know that asshole well. If you go asking for the money, he won't return it. He will even shamelessly tell you that he never took the money."

Blinded by fury, Marianne shouted, "Hah! If he has the guts to refuse to return the money, I'll get my son to break his goddamn legs! Mitchell! Come on, let's go get our money back!"

A tall and built man made his way down the stairs. It was Priscilla's brother, Mitchell Miller. He'd joined a local thug gang at a very young age, and he was infamous for being a huge bully who only bowed down to people more powerful than him.

Not only did Marianne not stop him from doing so, she seemed to think that what Mitchell was doing was the right thing to do.

Loosening up his muscles, Mitchell said, "I'll be sure to teach him well for daring to accept money from the Miller family."

Seeing the state of rage that Marianne and Mitchell were in, Wade came up with a devious plan in his head.

When Marianne was out of hearing range, he secretly told Mitchell, "Hey, Mitch, don't mess him up too badly, okay? It's not worth being detained for an asshole like him.

"Here, have this. Pretend to stab him with this. He'll be so scared that he'll return the money in a flash."

Wade produced a dagger and proceeded to stab himself with it several times. Every time the dagger came in contact with something solid, the blade would retract into the hilt, so it was of no harm to anyone.

Mitchell, who wasn't a bright person to begin with, took the dagger from Wade and began laughing thoughtlessly. "Haha! You're a smart one, Wade!"

Mitchell liked the idea of having Wade as his brother-in-law because Wade had promised him a sports car when he married Priscilla.

A divorced sister for a new sports car. Mitchell wished that Priscilla would change up her men more often.

Seeing how excited Mitchell looked, Wade smiled softly. The dimwit didn't even notice that he'd secretly locked the safety pin.

The dagger was now no different from any other dagger. As long as Mitchell killed Frederick, nobody would ever find out that he'd pocketed the ten million dollars. There was no proof of it anyway.

As for whether Mitchell would be executed for it, Wade couldn't care less. He was only interested in having his way with Priscilla.

"Oh, Frederick, you've just gotten a divorce this morning, and tonight, you're going to kiss your life goodbye. You've only got yourself to blame for having such a beautiful wife, and it's just your bad luck that I've got my eyes on her," Wade thought.
