Chapter hundred-three

Katherine's POV

My body was light and weightless, almost paper-like in comparison.

I didn't feel anything for some seconds until I crashed back to reality. My hearing was fuzzy, and things sounded distant. My breathing was erratic as I sought to control it.

Turning to my side, pain sprang up the moment I moved my body and I whimpered. My entire side felt like it was being steam cooked.

I was in agony as I couldn't even turn or move. The pain started to subside after some minutes, as my body started to heal itself. I must have blacked out because the next thing I saw was Caleb's face and he carried me through the city, avoiding heated zones so he could take me to the clinic.

Unfortunately, the bouncing aggravated the pain I felt, and I screamed out loud. I kept on screaming until he dumped me on a bed and something sharp pricked my skin and I floated off. I was waking up and slipping back into unconsciousness as my body fought to heal all the damaged tissues. There were times it felt l
