Rafe ran out of the house as fast as his human legs could carry him but it didn't seem fast so he transformed into a wolf and sprang to Ivy's house. Ivy sat on her bed, flipping through the contract Mr Jones Vones had given her in shock. She had been warned not to speak of the things she would be asked to do, and the consequences if she did. The pledge at the end of the document made Ivy shudder. If she ever revealed what was asked of her, he would kill her. Rafe laid on his back, breathing heavily and experiencing excruciating pain. He had just taken a bullet to his heart. Mr Jones Vones had shot him and he fought hard for Ivy, even with that pain. He had been shot but thankfully, those were rubber bullets. It still left him in pain and it would take some few minutes to heal but what he was more worried about was how to deal with Ivy. Rafe nervously stepped up to the door of Mr Jones Vones' house. His parents had told him the tales of Mr Jones Vones. The man's wealth and power, but he had not expected the heavy door before him to be guarded by a man with a gun. Rafe remembered that day like it was yesterday. He had been so scared and confused as he and his family stumbled into the city of Cayton. He was just fifteen years of age. Previously, his friends had told him. He had been warned of the dangers of the city, but the sight of the guards of Mr Jones' grandfather, Mr Cayton, had been the most frightening of all. He had been so hungry and exhausted, but he had never expected to be arrested. The guards had been harsh and unyielding, and Rafe had been terrified of what would happen to him and his family. As Raymond pushed the door through, they both saw two men carrying someone wounded, heading to a door on the east. The stranger was in pretty bad shape,and it took Raymond about five seconds before he recognized the stranger to be his brother. He gasped. " Oh no! Rafe's heart was pounding in his chest as he stumbled out of the door. He had been feeling weak and dizzy but he was determined to find out if Ivy was okay. He had to know if she was safe.Normally, he would run over there but today was not one of those days. He grabbed his keys and stumbled out into the night. His vision was blurry, but he managed to make it to his car. He fumbled with the keys, trying desperately to get the door open.
