When Cathy came out of the bathroom, Ted was nowhere to be found in the room but there was a change of clothes lying on the bed; one of his shirts and a pair of cords.

She smiled thinking about how she actually had no clothes to wear.

Maybe I shouldn’t have asked about his life, she thought as she hugged her arms around herself.

Then Cathy frowned. No, I was right to ask. He is my mate. I want him as my mate, I need to know him.

She left the bathroom door and went over to the bed to inspect the clothes.

The shirt was large enough to cover her to mid-thigh so she discarded the cords back into the closet. Just like every other thing in the house, she had to press a button to open the closet door.

Cathy frowned at the limited display of clothes; a few shirts and pants and a couple of shoes. Nothing else.

The lack of personal effects was…strange. Dressed in his shirt and enveloped in his scent, she looked around the room noting for the first time just how much like the beach house it was
