MAGNUS POV

I walked back to the palace angry at Sophie's betrayal. The bitch had been fucking lying all this while. It had taken all my self control not to smash her head with my hands.

My wolf had been protesting all the while against me but I paid no heed to him. He wanted her besides us. He had no fucking clue of what was happening.

Back in my office, I opened a bottle of vodka and poured a generous amount down my throat. I wanted to forget how easily she had fooled me. Sure, the King would have died soon but she had hastened the process. Betty's revelation flashed through my mind.

It was a timely coincidence and one I was ever grateful for. Elena had said that their Lycan family had married a few witches some generations in the past giving rise to some of the Lycans having the gift of prophecy.
