ADAIRA~I shouldn’t have spoken too soon. I should have known that Gavrael really had something gruesome planned for me today. I was ecstatic to meet my grandmother, and I wanted us to have a little chat before I started working, but she said I had a lot to do and we would talk later. I don’t know if she was just stalling for time because she knew what I wanted to talk about and she didn’t want to have the conversation, or if she was really telling the truth. There were other females apart from me already up and dressed, ready to work, and I thought that meant she was wrong about me having too much to do. ADAIRA~Even after asking him what he wanted, he still didn’t speak. Was he trying to pretend that he wasn’t here? ADAIRA~The next day, Gavrael was back to being his prickly self. My first task today was to join him and his rogues while they trained and hand them towels and water where needed. So I was basically an errand girl. My wolf was restless within me as she watched them spar and train, because she wanted to join in. It had been so long since I let out my aggression by physically exerting myself till my limbs were weak. I missed feeling the adrenaline coursing through my veins while I fought, missed the rush of endorphins after a successful workout session, missed the sweat and grime and the cold shower afterwards followed by a hearty breakfast to stave the hunger and appetite I must have worked up. I wasn’t allowed to join them while they trained and it irked me.Or maybe what really annoyed me was seeing Midi all over Gavrael as usual. ADAIRA~“What do you think you’re doing?” She scoffed.“Know your place, slave.” She said as she eyed me with disdain.She thought being close to Gavrael would save her somehow, that I would be too scared of him to actually attack her. And if I wasn’t so angry. I would have held back, but right now, there was no backing down till someone’s blood spills. I shoved her and she stumbled backwards with a look of surprise in her eyes.“This is the second time you’re trying to imprint my face on the sand, and it better be the last time. I don’t know what your problem is but I’m not dealing with it so be warned.” My voice was guttural because my wolf was close to the surface.Midi snarled and moved towards me.“How dare you lay your hands on me, you filthy mutt!” She yelled.“Between the both of us, who’s the mutt, rogue?” I said sarcastically“Better a rogue than a lowly slave. I could make you lick my feet right now and you would have no choice but to do it.” She said to me with a sneer.“

ADAIRA~Her claws sliced my face and nearly took out my eye. The wound was superficial and would heal soon, but I was so stunned that she tricked me so I tripped over my feet, fell and rolled over three times before my body stopped. Midi was on me in the next second and I yelled as her claws dug into my shoulders from behind. Now, my wolf was pissed. I rolled over to get her claws out of me. I knew it would really hurt and my flesh would get torn, but I did it anyway and then I let my wolf take over. I growled angrily as my paws hit the ground. I still felt the lingering pain in my shoulders from Midi’s claws digging into them, but it had mostly healed because of my shift from human to wolf.It was no secret that I was a better fighter in wolf form and not just because of the enhanced senses of a wolf. My wolf just had this special connection with nature that seemed to be more than regular wolves. Sometimes, it was like I could feel every particle of air that got into my lungs, feel

ADAIRA ~ I turned and ran off before Gavrael could say another word. I knew he would probably punish me for what I just did to Midi, but I honestly couldn’t care less. I left because I wasn’t in the mood to hear how he would punish me this time. I was too riled up to accept any punishment from him without protest, and I didn’t want anyone else to pay the price for my actions. I would still have to deal with it later but that would give me some more time to shore up my defences so I would accept my punishment with my head held high and my lips sealed. Besides, I have to join the others to serve them all breakfast. I may poison them one of these days just to teach them a lesson not to bite the hand that feeds them, but I would have to come up with a fool proof plan in order for that to succeed. I had been told by one of the females I work with that three other females had planned to poison Gavrael and his pack of rogues on the first week after they took over. She said no one knows how
