Chapter 11

Jake and I were about seven minutes late to dinner and by the time we got home, almost the whole family was seated on the table talking about whatever knows what, well apart from Alexander and his wife. I am sure you can already tell, my mom told the whole family that Jake is my "boyfriend" can she not just keep something a secret! 

Jake got comfortable around my family quickly and no one seemed to notice the absence of chemistry or whatever it is called, between both of us. Jake sat beside aunt Pauline while I took my seat beside him. 

Mom already prepared one of her sweet delicacies. She always preferred to be alone in the kitchen whenever she wants to prepare a meal that is why no one ever helps her in the kitchen. I guess I took my baking skills from her though.
