Chapter 1

"I do not accept Marina Jones as my wife." A gasp filled the hall immediately Jayden rejected the vows from the mouth of the priest for the second time in a row. Everyone was surprised at the sudden turn of events.

The hall went into panic, whispers filled the hall, and both girl's and boy's parents ran to the front. "what do you think you are doing Jayden?"

"What's wrong with you Jayden, accept the wedding vows and get married to Marina."

"You both have been promised to each other all your life and now, so suddenly you want to reject her?"

"Jayden stop being stubborn and just get married. You are humiliating Marina and embarrassing her before everyone. This is absurd."

Marina and Jayden's parents tried to talk sense into his head but Jayden remained headstrong in his decision not to marry Marina.

"I do not wish to get married to Marina, I have someone else I love. I want to get married to her not Marina. I can't pretend anymore!" Jayden yelled at his parents which was loud enough for everyone to hear.

"I am sorry, I am only saying this now but what was I supposed to do? You all gave me no choice, I am sorry for embarrassing Marina but I have no choice!" Jayden remarked looking at the families before turning his gaze to Marina.

Marina stood there with tears in her eyes, she refused to let them fall. Watching her wedding get ruined was the last thing she ever imagined, she never thought there would come a day when all her fairytales would be destroyed before her own eyes but here it was.

Hearing Jayden reject her for the second time, slashed her heart like a sword running through meat. He did not have to do this to her here but he chose to make a mockery of her before everyone she knew.

Jayden walked towards Marina with helplessness in his eyes, "Mari, I am sorry. I never meant to do this here but you know how our parents are, if I had said this before then they would have forced me into marrying you."

"Please forgive me, Mari, you are just not the one for me and I am not the one for you either. We are two different poles, I do not like you in that manner." Jayden kept explaining trying to justify his actions.

Jayden was tired when Mari was not responding to him, he stretched his hand and held onto her shoulders shaking her. "Are you listening to me?"

"Just say something, Mari....."

The murmurs in the hall did not reduce even a little bit, many gazed at Marina with pity in their eyes. Everyone had always thought Marina Jones would get married to Jayden Hawthorne, the number one bachelor in town but the reality of things was quite different.

"She is so pitiful, imagine her groom rejecting her on the altar."

"How will she show her face now?"

"No man will ever want to marry her after this, they will believe it was her fault for getting rejected on the altar

"

"What a poor child she is, I heard she has always been rejected right from birth."

"Even her parents left her in the countryside for 10 years, what would you expect?"

"She does not have a good fate, she is destined to go through pains and suffering."

"Tch tch tch, what a pity!"

The murmurs were not reducing and the media kept taking pictures of everything happening in the hall. Marina felt her ears were going to burn with the whispers and talks, it was annoying to her.

The tears threatened to fall from her eyes but Marina refused to let them fall, raising her head she gazed at Jayden with tears in her eyes.

"Take your hands off me. Now!" Marina muttered looking at him with bloodshot eyes.

"Marina, I am so sorry. I did not mean to, please understand me. I love someone already." Jayden remarked still shaking her shoulders.

"You love someone? Did you ever think about my feelings before making this decision? Did you?!!!"

"You rejected me twice on the altar yet you are telling me you have someone you love? How dare you say that to me!"

The whispers in the hall reduced at the sound of Marina's voice, everyone focused their attention on her wondering what was going to happen.

"Take your hands off me now!" "Take your flirty hands off me, Jayden Hawthorne!" Marina yelled peeling his hands away from her body. Her eyes glowed with hatred as she stared at him.

Jayden was taken aback by Marina's yells, he never expected her to react to the situation in this manner she wanted her to accept his apology here and now.

"Marinnnnnnn......."

"Priest, it's my turn now. Say the vows.." Marina remarked throwing a fleeting gaze on the priest.

"Marina dear, what are you trying to do? Please stop this!" Mrs. Jones yelled trying to stop her daughter from doing something foolish.

"What does she think she is doing?"

"Her vows? Does this make sense?"

"He already rejected her, what does she want to do now?" The people whispered confused at Marina's request.

"Say my vows now priest!" Marina yelled garing heavily at the priest.

"Marina, what do you think you are doing? Stop this! This does not make sense!" Jayden remarked wondering what Marina wanted to achieve.

The young priest trembled where he stood, her gaze was piercing. Opening the book, he continued like he was asked.

"Do you Marina Jones take Jayden Hawthorne as your lawfully wedded husband? To love him in"

"No, I do not!."

Gasps filled the hall at Marina's reply. "Is she insane? What is she trying to do?"

"She is rejecting him too, giving him a taste of his own medicine!"

"Do you take him as your lawfully....."

"No, I do not!"

"For the last time, do you take him as your lawfully wedded..."

"No, I do not and will never!." Marina replied looking straight into Jayden's eyes.
