Chapter One

Alpha Ace Chapter 1

Feeling a powerful glare on her, she crinkled down. “Hah? What’s this? You think you can just disappear and act like you’re forgiven?” He said. She expected this the much she just didn’t expect it to be so straightforward.

“What Vin-”

Cutting her off with a glare and a low growled, he spoke up, “Shut the fuck up. I’m not finished. Mom and dad went crazy, even the little ones and you didn’t even call. Do you know scary that’s been for five fucking years?”

Her mother stepped in and glared at her son. “You know what she went through. You know how much your alpha has caused her so much pain.” Her mother defended ing, pulling her child in her arms.

Rolling his eyes he walks away and Runa wanted to stop him but what he was saying was pure facts. No lies, she was an awful sister. “I don’t deserve to be here,” Runa whispered.

“No, you do. You have every right to be here. I’m so glad you came to this one. Try talking to your brother, you know he’s a sucker for forgiving easily.”

It was true for the most part but could he forgive this? Nodding she took her leave and searched for him. She remembered a spot he always attended to whenever he was tired so she searched there first and in no time she saw him sitting down, his head hanged low.

Taking the seat next to him she hears him sigh. “You didn’t call.” He spoke, his voice trying to come out as a whisper but it was obvious that his voice held so much emotion.

“I’m sorry Vinnie.”

“Sorry doesn’t cut it.”

“I know that Vinnie but I’m—“

Cutting her off once again he lowly scoffed. “Let me guess, you’re sorry right?” He stood and watched her, his arms crossed and his eyebrows tinted. “If Damien says he’s sorry and whatnot, would you forgive him for rejecting you?”

Just the mention of the one that broke her for good made her want to scream at him. “No of course.”

“Exactly. I’m your brother. Your twin at that. Why couldn’t you talk to me? You’re the most important person to me. Please stop bottling up your emotions.” He said.

The bond they shared was like no other. Vinnie was always protective of her and he would never let her in harm. Her leaving completely destroyed him.

“I just couldn’t stay. It was so hard and painful.” She said letting her tears fall. His face softened for a bit before sitting back down.

“I know. Rejection is the worst feeling for a werewolf. I just wish you came to your big brother. I feel as though I’ve failed you.”

Smiling she placed her head on his shoulder. “It’s not your fault. I just wasn’t that strong.”

“It’s okay. I’ll be a better brother to you Runa.” Hugging her, he wiped her tears and ran a hand through her now short hair. “I’ll promise you that. Do you still want to talk about it?” He asked. Wasn’t being too pushy or too soft. He just wanted her to open up to him.

She shook her head but he lifted her head. “You know he’ll be here today. Talking about it may help. I can’t believe it’s been five years.”

“I don’t want to talk about him. I’m sure he’s happy with Marlene and I’m just sitting here with a broken heart and it’s been five fucking years! I’m so pathetic.” Her brother wrapped his arms around, holding her as if she was still the same little girl he held in his arms whenever she cried.

Clinging onto him, she explains her full story, “I wonder if he ever thought of me. I’m sure he could have felt my wolf and me, our emotions. He was our mate after all. Why couldn’t he be satisfied with me? What’s wrong with me?”

Vinnie stayed quiet for a bit before smiling a bit and lifting her head up. “Nothings wrong with you. You’re perfect and I’m sure you’ve changed over the five years?”

Remembering all the things she has learned over the years from her alpha, she nodded and smiled at him. Wiping her tears she had tried her best to become confident and not rely on a mate. Milo has helped her half of the way.

“You’re right. Thanks for forgiving me.”

Raising a brow, he chuckled. “Oh, you think you’re forgiven, missy. Let’s get back home before mom has our asses.” He joked.

Chucking and nodding, she followed him. “So who’s that guy?” He asked, probably referring to Milo.

“Milo’s my friend. He’s the one that brought me into the Ginger Flake Pack. They are like a second family to me.” She smiled. The mention of a different pack did upset him a bit but he just wanted her to smile. “I’ve missed you the most.”

“As I have missed you. Oh and I’ve found my mate.” He said, trying to bring the mood up. As a kid, he was always imagined his mate and what he could do to her and that made him so happy.

She stopped in her tracks and hugged her brother. “Oh my god, Vinnie I’m so happy for you. What’s her name?”

“Her names Lily. She’s the cutest innocent thing ever. You and her would get along so well.” Backing away she smiled. She wanted to meet her so badly. “We meet two years ago at the Annual Ball. Maybe you’ll find another second chance mate here.” He said with a wink.

She highly doubted it since the moon goddess hasn’t done much for her for the last years.

“Right.” She said with a shrug.

“You should have seen Lily when we met. She was stuffing her face with so many sweets and I just knew I would love her so much.” He said, smiling at the memories he held. Runa giggled as she nodded. “You know how mom is, she wouldn’t stop pestering her. Though, Molly and her seemed to get close and they did everything together. I’m still jealous.” He frowned.

Runa smiled at that, knowing how her mother is like. She was sad she got to miss all of this.

“I’m so happy for you Vinnie, seriously, you deserve it all. Lily is so great to have you.” Smirking he patted her head and they got into the castle, it was named Harlow and was huge. Normally they would just go to their separate pack houses but there was another large house for all werewolves.

Looking around at all the wolves, some shifting and playing around. Everything looked so happy. She was surprised, she didn’t see most packs here since there was so much beef between packs. Werewolves were dominant in the society so they never got along.

“I’m still shocked you came. What made you come?” He said.

“Alpha Killian forced me and father especially wanted me to come to this one. I didn’t expect to come back here.” She referred to his countless demands that he spread around the world so she for sure got his message.

Nodding he spoke up, “It’s going to be a shocker that you’re here. Our pack kinda sees you as a traitor.” He said with a frown.

“Great another worry. Though I don’t care.”

Sniffing out their mother, they see her waving off her friend. “Oh, there’s my babies. How about you both go and get ready. Get dressed and be here early.”

“Mom it’s too early though,” Vinnie said with a smile. He was so happy to see them together. He had missed his sister so much.

“Vinnie I need to chat with you. Dear catch us later, no stop don’t move those boxes!” Mom yelled at some wolf, Vinnie giving her sister a shrug before following after their mother.

Sniffing the air she smelled Milo and smiled at him as she walked up to him. “Hey, Milo, what’s up with you?” She smiled.

“Oh, you know, trying to sniff out my mate. Did everything go okay with your family?” He asked.

Smiling she nodded. Everything went perfect, a little too perfect. “They were welcoming.” She smiled. “Let’s get to our rooms.”
