CHAPTER FOUR

The first thought that came into my mind was that he was crazy. Mate? What did he mean by mate.

 “What?” I breathed out and looked at him with my eyebrows creased.

 “What are you taking about? Mate?” I said and continued, “look I don’t know what you’re talking but please let me go,” I pleaded while he silently watched me.

 “I promise I won’t tell anyone about this,” I said as my chest heaved up and down. My hair was glued to my forehead as I was sweaty and scared. All I wanted was to leave this place. I wanted to go home and to take a shower and sleep. I was now regretting ever going to that club. I should’ve called Emily at my home, at least then I would never be here. My eyes leaked with tears. I looked terrible and vulnerable, and I hated myself for being like that. I was never the one to cower down from anyone then why him? What was with him that scared me? His hold on my hair tightened and I grunted.

“Tell me or I will kill you,” he threatened and I believed him.

“I’m telling you the truth. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I stated in my desperate attempts to make him believe in me. Something flickered in his eyes but it was gone within a second before I could have even guessed what it was. He released a breath while I held mine. Was he going to kill me? Was I going to die today? I inhaled when he backed away from me, a sudden relief flooded through me. Was he going to let me go?

My relief went out of the window when I noticed him pulling out something from his pocket. I stopped breathing and terror dwindled in me, he reached to me with an injection in his hand.

“No,” I voiced. I wanted to run away but my hands were tied. I squirmed in my place.

“No, no, please. Don’t do this please, just let me go,” I pleaded to him but he ignored me and pointed the injection on my left arm. I was wiggling in his holds and my eyes were brimming with tears. I groaned as I felt the sharp pain in my arm. He did it and at that very moment, I hated him for this with all my might. My head started to spin and my eyelids began to feel heavy. Before the darkness crept around me, I saw his face which was still void of any emotion. I was going to die that was the last thing I thought.

~~~~~
I peeled open my eyes and stared at the unfamiliar white ceiling. I sat straight and checked my surrounding. I was on the bed. It was a big room which was decorated similar to my own. There was a nightstand beside the bed and at the left side of the room was a comfy-looking couch. A big bookshelf was placed beside the couch. I jumped out of the bed and padded my way to the door. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it but it was locked. I sighed, even though I expected it to be locked, I was still disappointed.
Taking a deep breath, I pounced on the door and shouted, “Open the door. Let me out.” I knew I was calling for danger but still, I couldn’t just sit here and wait for that man to bring my fate. I needed to get back home. I was so screwed up. I had to go to the company and had to attend meetings with the clients. I wanted to slam my head into the wall for thinking about the company instead of getting out of here alive. I heard that someone was outside and immediately backed away from the door.
I searched the room for anything that could help me escape and then decided to just grab a book from the bookshelf. I quickly pulled out a first book that touched my finger and stepped just beside the door with the plan to hit anyone who enters the room from behind and take a run for it. I swallowed and waited. The door opened and someone stepped inside, I recognized the back of the man and within a second made my move. I was about to hit him from behind but before I could, with some inhumane speed, he turned around and grabbed my arm with one hand, and pushed me to the wall with another.
I was awed by his speed but groaned when my back hit the hard surface of the wall. I was frustrated at my failure and at his incredibility of knowing my ridiculous move. I should’ve planned something more promising.
“Let me go,” I gritted out. I was not scared of him anymore instead annoyed by him. Who the hell he was? And why was he doing this to me?
“Won’t you let go?” I repeated and clenched my teeth. He had placed both of my hands on the wall on each side of my face and was burning holes in me with his piercing gaze. I struggled to get free from him but he was stronger than me.
“I said let me go, you asshole,” I spoke. It was not me; it was my anger speaking and I knew I was pushing my luck. I was breathing hot. My body was touching his and I didn’t know why I felt tingles all over my body and I didn’t like that even a bit. While I was trying to ignore the tingles and his closeness, I heard a loud growl. The thing that scared me the most was that the growl came from his mouth and I felt his grip on me tightened. I felt a sharp pain in my hand and I looked to my side.
I noticed that his nails were digging in my flash but what shocked me to my core was that his hands were no longer hands but claws. And I did what a normal human would’ve done, I screamed.
