ROSE’S POV I stirred from my sleep when I heard knocks on my door. Someone entered my room before I could open my eyes. “GOOD MORNING!” a very bubbly voice cheered which forced me to sit straight on my bed. I rubbed my eyes which ached from crying in the night. A girl paced towards the window and opened the curtains. She stepped closer to my bed and then faced me. A bright smile glued to her face. Her eyes shone in the sunlight from the window. She was my height with curls bouncing on her shoulder. I blinked and she did the same. “Mor..ning...,” I said rather awkwardly, displaying my clenched teeth which made her giggle. “I’m your assigned maiden. And you have only twenty minutes to get ready for breakfast,” she spoke and at the same time my stomach growled. I embarrassingly placed my hands on my tummy which made her glance downwards. I was still dazed from the last night. Why did I dream of that beast again? Those golden eyes, ready to kill me. I shivered. That dream felt all too
His hands caress my body, which erupted goosebumps everywhere he touched me. I was burning hot as his breath fanned over my face. My eyes met those amber orbs, which made me lose my mind all over again. He snaked his hands around my waist, pulling me towards him, even though there was not a single inch of space between us. His lips met mine and my stomach felt as if it had exploded with millions of fireworks. My mind screamed at me to back away from him, but my body did the opposite. My hands went around his hair and grabbed a fist of his brown locks while his tongue played inside my mouth. Devouring me. Tasting me. I kissed him back with the same need that he showed me. He tasted like wine and smelled like alcohol. He pushed me to the wall behind me, and a groan escaped my lips. He didn't let go of me though, as he continued to savor the taste of my lips. I heard a deep moan from him, which seemed more like a growl. Was he getting impatient? I thought. He lifted me from the
Suddenly my heart was pounding loudly inside my chest and the loud music from the club stopped ringing in my ear. I could only hear my heart beating. My hold around the glass tightened and holding my breath, I slowly looked behind to the person who tapped on my shoulder.“Hey!” I released the breath I was holding when the familiar eyes of Emily looked back at me. I felt relieved seeing her here. I didn’t know why I was scared of that man from the dream but there was something weird about him. Emily took a seat beside me and ordered a drink for herself while my eyes involuntarily went to the same place where I looked at those amber eyes. Was I daydreaming? I thought. I decided to completely forget about the stranger and focus on Emily right now. Taking a deep breath, I turned to look at Emily who was looking terribly upset. Her eyes had lost their brightness and they were not shining as they always did. I placed my hand over her and gently squeezed it.
“Who are you?” I had asked him but before I knew what was happening, he came to me and placed something on my mouth, preventing my scream to reach anyone’s ear. I realized that it was a cloth he had placed on my mouth and there must be chloroform on it. I panicked as my mind went blank. I didn’t know what to do. I wiggled in his hold but he only grabbed me from behind and not later than a minute I was losing my consciousness. I fainted in his arm and fell into the darkness that surrounded me afterward. My eyes fluttered open and a groan escaped my mouth when my head ached. With my eyebrows furrowed in confusion, I looked around me. I was in a very unfamiliar room and the walls and the ceiling was covered in white paint. It was empty besides a chair in the very corner of the room while I stood in the middle. I moved my hand and it took me by surprise when I realized that my hands were tied to the pole behind me. I nudged my hands as if I would be able t
The first thought that came into my mind was that he was crazy. Mate? What did he mean by mate.“What?” I breathed out and looked at him with my eyebrows creased. “What are you taking about? Mate?” I said and continued, “look I don’t know what you’re talking but please let me go,” I pleaded while he silently watched me.“I promise I won’t tell anyone about this,” I said as my chest heaved up and down. My hair was glued to my forehead as I was sweaty and scared. All I wanted was to leave this place. I wanted to go home and to take a shower and sleep. I was now regretting ever going to that club. I should’ve called Emily at my home, at least then I would never be here. My eyes leaked with tears. I looked terrible and vulnerable, and I hated myself for being like that. I was never the one to cower down from anyone then why him? What was with him that scared me? Hi
I screamed so loud that I knew everyone within one kilometer must have heard me but no one came to help me as if none listened to my scream. Where was I?“SHUT UP,” he ordered but didn’t stop. I was scared as hell. The man in front of me was not human. I was sure of it. He released my hand only to place it on my mouth, muffling my screams. I squirmed in his hold, wanting nothing but to get away from him as far as I could. I still felt the tingles and his eyes again changed their color. It again went black instead of amber and I was about to pee myself. “Shut up or I’ll kill you,” he threatened. I quietened my scream and stared at him with my eyes wide as a saucer. My chest heaved and the vein thumped in my throat. My breath was hitched and my heart was hastily beating inside my chest. When he noticed that I was silent, he slowly, very slowly removed his hand from my mouth. I stayed rooted to my spot and didn’t move eve
I sat on the couch as the girl treated my arm. In the meantime, I had asked the girl her name, Aurora was her response. I watched as she focused her mind on my wound. Her touch was gentle on my arm as she wrapped the bandage around my injury.“Done,” she said and finally looked at me. Her blue eyes shone and she passed me a smile. It was reassuring and for a moment I forgot that I was kidnapped by a jerk.“You should clean up,” she spoke again as her eyes went to my body. I craned my neck and looked at myself. I was still in my office attire that was dirty and worn out while my hair was tattered all around my shoulder but I didn’t care about that. All I wanted was to go home.“Freshen up and I’ll take you downstairs,” she said. I was taken aback.“You will?” I said, surprisingly.“Yes, we can have dinner together,” came her simple response while I clenched my teeth together. Ho
“Rose,” the voice echoed. I didn’t open my eyes and stayed rooted to the ground waiting for the beast to attack. “Rose,” the voice again called for me. I knew I recognized the voice but I couldn’t put a name to it. Someone jerked my body and my eyes flew open. I sharply looked to my side where Aurora stood and watched me. Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes filled with worry. Realizing my fingers were still brushing the painting, I immediately backed away from it. It was weird. I could still hear my heart pounding. I took a glance at the painting and my eyebrows wrinkled together. I was about to die a few seconds ago but how did that happen? Was I just dreaming? “What…what happened?” I whispered to her; my eyes still fixed at the painting. I could still see the girl who laid on the ground with the beast hovering over her. The beast. Those golden eyes. I felt chills and I trembled in fear. Aurora didn’t answer me but she didn’t even ask what happened t
