Chapter 20

Emily stared at the both of them, wondering what was going on.

“You’re welcome. I would show you to your quarters”, Richard said as he started walking out.

Emily nodded her head in understanding and turned her head to watch Barbara, who shot Richard a dead glare.

She bowed her head respectfully and hurriedly sauntered behind Richard.

“Could they be siblings ?” She asked herself inwardly, but couldn’t come up with an answer.

“We are here!” Richard said and turned to stare at Emily, whose head was lowered to the floor.

He couldn’t decipher why she found it difficult to meet his eyes whenever they were together.

“Thank you very much”, Emily said as she made to walk into the room.

Richard held her wrist calmly, causing her to peer into his warm eyes.

“You shouldn’t get frightened by me. I won’t hurt you, neither would I bite you”, Richard said as Emily finally let out a smile.

It was a genuine one that got Richard lost for a moment.

“Thank you, sir”, Emily said again as she bowed and wa
