Chapter 54

“Your dinner is ready, sir”, Emily informed Richard, hurriedly making her way out of the living room.

“Won’t you have dinner with me?” Richard asked aloud, causing her to stop right in her tracks.

“I obey rules and one of them says that I should stay away from the husband. You are the husband and I must obey that”, Emily said, after which she quickly walked out of the living room.

Richard made to talk, but felt his throat getting constricted. He kept mute in the process, after which his gaze fell to what she had prepared for him.

He smiled calmly and took in a deep breath, in preparation to feast on the meal.

“Oh my God!” Emily yelped the moment she got into her room.

She took in a deep breath and fell to the bed, allowing the tears to find their way out of her eyes.

“You’re just a maid, just a maid”, she muttered continuously, trying to take in that realization.

Somehow, she felt that she had found her soul mate.

She was young and naive. However, she could swear that she never ha
