Sapphire hesitated for a moment, as if choosing her words carefully.

"Lia, there's something I need to tell you," she finally said, her voice tinged with awkwardness.

I looked at her curiously, urging her to continue. "What is it, Sapphire?" I asked, my heart fluttering with uncertainty.

She took a deep breath before speaking. "I... I miss Max," she admitted, her energy flickering with a mix of emotions.

"Even though he reacts numbly to the bond between us, I can't help but miss the connection we once had."

I felt a rush of conflicting emotions at her confession.

Part of me was surprised and confused by her feelings for Max, while another part understood the depth of the bond they once shared.

Sapphire's words caught me off guard. "You miss Max?" I repeated, surprised by the admission. "But he's the one who hurt me, who betrayed my trust.
