Chapter 39

Only a blanket covered us. I gazed at him, a bitter smile forming on my lips as I thought about what could happen between us after that night. I still couldn't believe that I had given myself to Liam. I knew we couldn't be together because Liam was already engaged. I was happy that I had given myself to him, my first love. I loved him so much. Perhaps he would stop pursuing me now that he had gotten what he wanted. That's all he wanted.

Carefully, I picked up my bikini from the floor when I noticed that Liam was already asleep. I glanced at the wall clock. It was almost two o'clock in the morning. I needed to leave before he woke up. Lucas and I were leaving early to go back to the condo.

I grabbed one of Liam's shirts and put it on. I fixed my hair and took a deep breath as I looked at Liam.

"Until we meet again, Liam," I whispered.
