Chapter 32 You Shouldn't Have Come Back

Paige’s POV

I hold onto the closed door to support myself and prevent myself from falling into my knees. I looked into his eyes, meeting his anger as I spoke with a hoarse voice. “W-What are you doing here, Noah?”

I feel like I'm about to pass out. It's been five long years but my love for him, together with the pain, is still here. Here, in my heart, buried, hidden.

He rose from the swivel chair and laughed without humor. He pushed his hands inside the pocket of his slacks as he walked towards me and stood in front of me. He looked down at me with nothing but coldness. “Care to welcome me?”

I can’t do this. I can’t withstand the rage in his eyes. I can’t stand in the same room as him. I shook my head and was about to open the door to leave when he pushed the door closed and moved closer to me. Our bodies almost touched, so I rested my back on the closed door, nervous and helpless.

“No more running away, baby. You’ve run enough, It’s over.”

I looked at him, trying to keep my courage.
