With Daphne leaning against the car seat after I had made sure she was seated properly, I stepped on the accelerator of the truck down to the penthouse where the doctor should be waiting, and heaven help her if I got in there and noticed she wasn't.

No matter how hard I tried to get her to say a word, she kept mumbling out words which were incoherent to my ears while sweat streamed down her face.

I scooped her in my arms, handing the car key to the valet. I will be back for it later.

“Get in now” I barked orders at the doctor who I could tell had been waiting for a while. Fidgeting which certainly wasn't a great thing at this time.

Daphne kept writhing, squeezing her legs together, with pale features. The doctor stared at me, hard at first before nodding at the door. Was she being real right now?
