Familiar feeling

**Emily’s POV**

“I find it weird that you do not know what a mate is anymore.” He mumbled under his breath; then turning to look in my direction, he added, “A mate is more or less like a soulmate assigned to someone by the moon goddess.”

“Who’s the moon goddess?” I asked with a smile, as I stared up at his face which was presently laced with frustration.

“How do you not know who the moon goddess is, Emily?” He asked incredulously and I almost burst out laughing at the expression on his face.

“Same way I didn’t know my name was Emily earlier,” I replied sarcastically.

I smiled inwardly when he pinched the bridge of his nose as if in frustration, and then plopped into my bed while patting a space beside him as if to invite me over.

I hesitated.

I knew I felt safe and all that around him, and even felt like we must’ve been more than just friends earlier, but at the same time, it was quite difficult for me to fully trust him.
