Laura's POV

I looked at the person who had startled me. It was Nicholas, standing in front of my door, blocking my path. My plan had been to take my luggage downstairs and then ask him to have one of his drivers take me to Sonia's place. However, seeing him standing there before I could execute my plan was not what I had expected at all.

I swallowed hard before speaking. "I am leaving. I wanted to come and tell you," I said.

"Leaving to where exactly?" he asked, concern etching his face. Why did he want to know? Did he suddenly care about me again after having sex with me? Oh, men!

"To Sonia's apartment, where I will be staying for a while," I replied.

"I see," he said.

"Is that what you really want, though?" he asked.
