SweetGina103Hi everyone! It’s been quite fun writing about Katy and Ian and discovering their story as we go. But as you might have noticed it’s been progressing rather slowly this is because I’ve been juggling three books since the start of this year. As we get to the next part I’d like to be able to give these two beautiful characters my full attention. On that note I’ll be taking a couple weeks off to complete another on going book, MAFIA RULES. Its been crazy jumping from one world to the next and quite frankly draining. It would seem Eunice wasn’t joking about hearing from her lawyers, not that I think she’d joke with me, she tested me too much for that, over money no less but I was surprised by how fast she carried out her threats as no more than two days later I received the email from her legal representative. With my phone on my lap, I looked through the invitation to sit and discuss how we would be moving forward with regard to my father’s last will and testament while I waited for class to begin. It was supposed to be an easy conversation to come to an agreement. I see they were going with the carrot before the hot rod approach. Agreement for what though? I’m at the common area sitting on the bench my friends and I frequent, munching on the ham sandwiches Ms. Pat packed for me this morning and sipping on soda while flipping through a textbook with one hand as I have every free time I had in the past two days when my cell chirped, I drag my eyes momentarily from my reading to check the notification, I click on it with one hand opening a text from Hanna. There are two pictures accompanied by question marks. I swipe at the second one and hit send. It was a pair of calf-length boots as opposed to Uggs. I wasn’t sure of her outfit but the boots were more her style, she likely already made her choice and was going to wear the boots no matter what I said. I stepped into class the next day and made a beeline to my preferred seat. I considered plugging in my earbuds and listening to a few Halsey songs to keep my Zing on as students were moving around, chatting and catching up, discussing previous lessons, and talking loudly while we waited for class to start. I bring out my books and arrange my pen and pencils, I make quick work of sharpening the worn ones. I had a test later today which I spent the last two nights preparing for, I was feeling confident last night but I couldn’t help the nerves this morning. “You’ll be fine Kates” I mumbled to myself with a nod. After my test, I leave class trying not to think about my performance. Just trust Professor Edwards to bring out the trickiest questions, well what’s done is. Done, nothing I can do about it now. “Katy! So glad you could make it!” I smiled reaching to give the woman a hug. “Hi Mrs. Benson, thanks for having me” “Naomi, please” she corrected softly and kissed my cheek, with a hand on mine she walked me further into the garden. When she called earlier this week she said a little get-together so I was expecting a small gathering with maybe fifteen to twenty people. There were at least forty people present and I was early. The chair arrangements, and the number of trays lined with food and drinks, told me there were more guests to arrive. “Right this way, Elise will be down any moment, help yourself with food and drinks” someone waves for her attention, an attendant from his uniform. It was well past nine when I eased the car into my usual parking spot. I put the car in park, turned off the engine, and let out a breath. I am beat, my feet hurt from standing for the most part of the day but I had a smile on my lips. I grabbed my purse and bent to gather my shoes before pushing the door open.
