At a Crossroads.

Alexander's POV

I wasn't the perfect man, nor was I imperfect. No matter how much I tried to suppress this growing feeling, she somehow always found her way back into my life.

"Do you want to spend the night?" I managed to mumble.

"I...I..."

"You don't have to if you don't want to," I sighed deeply. "But I would love it if you did. I promise, no sex, just you and me, talking."

She chuckled, revealing a peaceful side I hadn't seen before. "Talking is boring."

"Well, I don't want you just as a sex partner."

"So what are we?"

"We'll figure that out," I said, leading her into my room, which was more or less an art gallery.

"But this is your parents' house," she whispered. "I might as well get killed."

"This is my side of the house, trust me," I said, turning to a black rose drawing. "All these were drawn by my late mother. She hoped I'd find love someday."

She moved closer, examining the drawing. "A black rose symbolizes tragic love..."
