Ties.

Alexander's POV

The elevator slid open, and I couldn't help but look at her, reminiscing about the days when we were together. When someone so dear betrays you, shouldn't you feel hatred? So why do I feel okay?

"Let's go out," she smiled, her dark skin radiant under the light.

"Sure," I replied. We walked out, acknowledging the greetings that met us in the hallway. My eyes were drawn to the crowd that had gathered. I couldn't figure out what was happening. "Excuse me," I said, stopping a young woman passing by. She bowed slightly when she recognized me. "What's happening?"

"Oh, sir, I thought... no, it's Miss Fiona Campbell, she..." she stammered.

My eyes widened at the mention of Fiona's name. I dashed down the hallway, pushing through the crowd and reporters as they pressed forward.

The security team rushed in, clearing out every unwanted visitor while I stood alone in the middle of the hall, with no trace of Fiona.
