Chapter 26
I HAD NEVER seen such chaotic breakfast. People flooded the huge dining area as if I was in a school cafeteria. Large tables were full of food for about sixty people. They were teasing each other. One of them even jumped on top of a table and did a "Magic Mic".
Nimpha who, of course, was locked in her boyfriend's arms again, grabbed a mug sitting on the corner table as soon as we got inside. She threw it across the room, aiming for the Channing-wannabe.
I gasped as I watched with a horrified face, but the guy caught it right before the poor mug hit the back of his neck.
His expressive, sparkly perhaps, pair of honeycomb eyes similar to Lawrence, narrowed at Nimpha. "What? You don't want others to see this?"
Roam suddenly covered my eyes when the guy lifted his shirt to expose his ab muscles. I removed his hand before I looked at him, slightly disappointed but my mate (oh, wow! Where did my confidence to say that
Chapter 27I DIDN'T know my vocabulary was too small until I saw the majestic falls near the border of Zenios and Claivan pack. The inner borders were not entirely guarded by Deltas because Nirvana people follow their rules strictly. One of those was to never cross the border unless invited by the territory's leader. My eyes were widened like a kid who'd seen Disneyland for the first time. My lips were widely open as I stared at the beautiful masterpiece in front of us. No, I didn't really think there was a word that's already invented that could give justice to it.Not that I was being emotional but the sight of it almost made me tear up. It has freaking layers of basin-like white rocks where the bluish water flows from the top. Its sound alone was calming already. Now I couldn't wait anymore to dive into it.Birds chirped as it hopped from one tree to another. Large oak trees lined up around, and goodness if this place wasn't p
Chapter 28NIMPHA helped me get ready for the sealing ceremony. The Luna gave me an off-shoulder white dress that's reaching my toes while Nimpha braded my hair into a crown with some strands falling on the sides of my face. She also put on some make up on my face to finish the look, and honestly, I had never admired myself as much as I did when I looked in the mirror."It feels like looking at a complete stranger," I uttered, still staring at myself in the mirror while Nimpha was standing behind me, holding me by my shoulders. She giggled. "Silly! You're beautiful even without all these. And now, to complete the look..." She grabbed the bouquet of pink roses on the dresser and handed it to me with a sweet smile plastered on her face. "Here you go, bride."Bride...My cheeks blushed with the word she used. I wasn't able to respond, and honestly, I didn't know exactly what to feel about all these.Nimpha's smile faded and
Chapter 29THERE WAS a moment in my life when I thought I would never feel anything like what my parents had. I used to watch them dance in the kitchen while mom was cooking dinner. Dad would always come home with a bunch of flowers and mom would look at him as if forever lies in his hands.I never thought the butterflies that weren't real, until I felt Roam's warm but minty breath against my bare skin, burning me in the most beautiful way.A sensual moan threatened to escape my throat when he began kissing the side of my neck, his rough palms were busy doing wonders on my body. He was on top of me wearing nothing anymore but his boxers, his hardness gently brushing against my throbbing sex everytime he was moving his hips.I couldn't help but squeeze my eyes shut as he nibbled my skin. Everytime he was grazing his teeth against my shoulder, I'd shiver in pure ecstasy. God, he was everything heavenly, and here I was, a saint turn
Chapter 30RoamIZZY drove the car while Jemimah and I were on the backseat. She was silent since we left Zenios, her eyes were staring blankly outside while her cat was on her lap.No one dared to talk the entire ride as we left Nirvana District, and when we reached the border, Izzy stopped the car and rubbed his palms on his face.Worry crossed my face as I observed Izzy. He didn't seem much of himself right now, but I knew there was something else that was bothering him besides what Nimpha and Hymer had done.A sigh left my lips. I leaned forward and rested my hand on Jemimah's thigh before I spoke. "Let's take a stop in the next town."Izzy glanced at me through the rearview mirror before he slightly nodded his head. The look on his face began to bother me. Seems like Izzy got some bad news to spill once the two of us were finally alone."Roam?" Jemimah called when the car started moving.I g
Jemimah "Oh, God..." I clenched my fists as tight as I could while squeezing my eyes shut. The baby inside me kept moving as if it's trying to find its way out. I thought I'd already gone too familiar with all kinds of pain, but this pain was fresh and unbearable. I didn't know how and where I got the child, no matter how stupid that sounded. All I got were blurry fragments of memory... of a man with a body that was built to survive a thousand battles, arms that could shelter me from the coldness of the night,
"Do it, Jem. It's now or never," my friend, Tilly said. Her big green eyes kept roaming around, checking if someone would see us hiding under the bleachers of the school's soccer field. I skipped lunch date with our friends because for the first time after ten years, my tear ducts worked again… just because my stepmother refused to sign my field trip waiver. Tilly, being a supportive friend as always, went with me as I cried in dispair. I was never excluded in anything but Mara was ruining things. I didn't want to hate her, but maybe Tilly was right. My stepmom was nothing but a bitch. I sniffed and stared blankly at my waiver. I was looking forward to joining the field trip. Senior class would end in a couple months and the excursion was the last trip I could have with our entire class. I badly wanted to go, but what if dad would find out that I faked Mara’s signature? Swallowing the lump forming in my throat, I shook my head and folde
I blew out my cheeks as I parked my car outside Tifler’s. It’s a local bar that recently opened in Filmore after it got wrecked multiple times in Remorse District. The owner refused to talk about the reason, though.I turned the engine off then rubbed my cold palms on my cheeks. "Seriously?" I scoffed when rain went heavier. "Look, God I appreciate the sympathy but you don't have to make heaven cry this much. I didn't even bring my umbrella." I shook my head then cursed the only curse I’d learned in middle school. “Damn it!”I glanced at the blinking signage of Tifler’s. It was Friday. It meant the place was probably loaded with people. Great! More eyes to witness whatever stupid move I was about to do.“God, this is the part where I question why I’ve never been to Tilly’s house parties.”Left with no other choice, I took my keys and the money I kept in my car before I jumped out of
Chapter 3I bit my lower lip when I saw the bartender's forehead creased. I'd been sitting at the bar area for more than five minutes, trying to figure out what the bloody cocktail drinks were made of.I tapped my fingers at the counter while my eyes narrowed at the menu. "Uh, excuse me but what's this uhm... this Bloody Mary?"The bartender sighed and shook his head. "You don't want that, kid." He grabbed a can of Coke in the chiller and placed it in front of me. "Just get this one and get out of here, will yah? I ain't Google, sugar."I pouted and stared at the carbonated drink for a couple seconds. "I'm being nice here." My eyes drifted to his nametag. "Ryle. I'm serious. I need a drink."He raised both of his eyebrows and pushed the Coke closer to my hand. "There. Now get lost."I rolled my eyes and pulled out my bills to show it to him. "I got money, alright? I can pay for like twenty more." I shook my head. "It's no
