I stared at father in shock. No, he couldn’t have gotten the right information.

“Where did you hear that from?’ I managed.

Father looked at me with anger. “Don’t ask me questions, Alexa. I want to know if you know that Alpha Gunnolf Royale has a mate!” He snapped.

I slowly pulled away from the tough spot that he had boxed me in, and pushed my hair out of my face in reflex. No, this wasn’t true. Alpha Gunnolf did not have a mate. I was sure about it. Why should he have a mate when I was there?

“No, dad! Whoever told you that was lying. Alpha Gunnolf is mateless, and as such I’m the only one who is capable enough to fill the void in his life. No-one can take my place in his life no matter how much they try. It’s not just possible.” I said fiercely.
