Fearless

Cassie's POV

My sons are now three months old.  Their father was in a coma for six days.  Johnny has been missing for the entire three months since the last rogue attack.  "Cassie I am sorry but I must name a new beta.  Everyone thinks your brother deserted us and should now be labeled as a traitor." Xander said all of a sudden as I was giving Marcus a feed.

"So you're going to call off the search for him?" I replied after a moment of thinking.

"No, I am not.  I don't believe he is a traitor.  It wasn't just rogues attacking us. Alpha Leo and his pack of scum also attacked.  I am just worried that we aren't going to like what we find when we find Johnny." Xander replied.  

"Why would my brother betray us?" I asked quietly as I finally got Marcus to go to sleep.

"I don't know.  But I intend to find out either way." Xander said as he kissed my cheek.

"What happens if he did betray us?" I asked. I didn't think I would like the answer.

"Exile.  He would get marked and be exiled to be a rogue.  If he ever come back he would be killed.  That is why when we find him we find out he did nothing wrong.  Johnny has been my best friend since we were small pups." Xander said as a tear fell from his eye.  "Come in Martin." 

"We found him.  He doesn't look good.  Doctor Johnson is examining him." Martin said as he looked toward me.

"Where was he?" I asked.

"Blood Moon Pack.  He was in the hospital there. He doesn't remember who he is." Martin answered.

"Can I trust you to watch my pups? Cassie and I would like to visit the beta." Xander said as he stood up and grabbed Marcus and took him to his crib.

"I will.  It will give me time to practice caring for pups.  Ashlynn is pregnant." Martin replied as he smiled at his nephew.

"Oh, that is wonderful," Xander said with a cheerful smile as he patted my brother on the shoulder.  "Come on Cassie." We walked to the pack hospital in complete silence.  As we got to the front doors Xander grabbed my hand and started walking faster.  

"Hey, Xander who is this slut?" A girl with blond hair said as she caught up to us.

"Back of Kenzie.  I am not here for you." Xander said as he turned and headed down the hall.

"Watch out slut. He's mine and I always get what I want." Kenzie said.

"Listen here Slut.  You will stay away from him." I said.  All of a sudden I felt a sharp pain on my cheek before I realize she had slapped me.

"That is no way to speak to your future Luna.  You are nothing but an Omega." Kenzie said before Xander had her pinned against the wall.

"She may have been born an Omega but she is my mate and this packs Luna.  You are exiled." Xander said through clenched teeth.  "Leave now.  I have already informed my warriors that you are a rogue and they will treat you as one if they find you."  

"But I love you.  I would be a far better Luna than that slut."  Kenzie said as she looked toward me.  

"The moon goddess knows more about who would be a better Luna.  You are not it."  Xander said as he let go of her.  She ran as fast as she could away from him.  I couldn't believe he had done that.  Kenzie was a beautiful she-wolf and I was just an Omega.  I get that he doesn't share what he sees as his but she could have been a Luna he could have been proud of.

"Why didn't you want her to be your mate?"  I asked.

"I want you and only you,"  Xander said as he leaned down and kissed me.

"Alpha.  Beta Johnny is finally remembering who he is.  His room is right here."  Dr. Brett said.  Dr. Brett was my uncle.  My mother's brother.  He was kind and loved everyone he met.  When we got to Johnny's room he was sitting up.

"Cassie.  You had your pup.  Do I have a niece or a nephew?"  Johnny said as we walked in.  

"I now have three sons.  Jackson, Levi, and Marcus."  I answered as I felt a tear fall down my eye.  My eldest brother who has always had my back has never met my sons.  Even when the rest of the pack and even my father abused me for being an Omega,  Johnny and Martin have always stood up for me.  I know that when Johnny thought he was delivering me to the alpha to become a breeder it was the worse feeling my brother ever had.  For the first time, he couldn't even look at me.

"Triplets.  Wow.  Which one will I call Alpha in twenty-three years?"  Johnny said sounding like he was trying to be funny.

"Usually when an alpha has more than one son from his mate's first pregnancy the pack elders and beta get to vote on who is the future alpha,"  Xander replied.
