Alder's POV

A week later I was to meet the selected mate Savannah West and I was pumped as hell. Notice the sarcasm, yeah?.

Well I shifted all the plans that I could to tha day and so I was suddenly too busy to meet her. This act becomes a routine because suddenly I'm too busy on the day I'm supposed to meet her and on my third attempt to shake her off I don't succeed.

I sign just one more paper and drop the pen rubbing my eyes and stretching still in my seat.

I think about how it's been a week since the dreams with Cassie stopped. No warnings, nothing. I just stopped dreaming about her in total and no matter how much I thought about her before sleeping I never dreamt about her.

Either I don't dream at all or I dream and it's not about her. A knock sounds on the door and I call out

"come in" without asking

"who is it" and immediately I regret my slip.

A woman dressed in a sort skimpy gown, make up that is so heavy I'm sure her face is feeling tired and heels so high it's a wonder
