We had just finished eating our breakfast when my phone rang. I secretly glanced at it and ignored it because I thought it was a call from someone else who I did not want to answer in the presence of my kids.

"Mommy, your phone is ringing. Why not pick it up?" Amelia asked.

"Mommy, pick it up. Daddy could be the one calling. Perhaps he is off from work today and wants to visit us," Liam added, stretching out his hand to reach for the phone so he could pick it up on my behalf, but I quickly took the phone off the table so he could not get it.
