Chapter 44

Upon awakening, Jennifer found herself on the bed, her entire body enveloped by the blanket. Clutching a plush pillow tightly, she sat up and surveyed the room, noticing Raymond’s absence. Carefully, she maneuvered herself out of bed.

“Alpha?” She called out as she knocked on the bathroom door but received no response. She turned the lock and discovered that the bathroom was empty.

Mumbling, she asked, “Where is he?”

Understanding that he was fine now, she felt relieved and hurriedly freshened up. Glancing at the window, she noticed the sky was orange, causing her to part her lips in shock.

“No one is here. He must be hungry. I should not have slept,” she realized.

In a rush, Jennifer exited the room, searching for Raymond and glancing outside. Then, she saw Raymond on the phone with someone, gazing out at the sea.

Quickly, Jennifer went to the kitchen and began preparing something to eat. Returning to the living room with the food, she set up the table and went outside to call Ray
