Jennifer was deeply upset by his soft tone, and his words left her utterly speechless, giving her a distinct feeling that he regarded her as someone else.

“R-Raymond,” she called.

“Don’t go. I will make everything right. Don’t be afraid of others,” He assured her as his eyes were half opened.

After releasing his grip on her wrist, he cupped her cheek and gently stroked it with the tip of his thumb.

“Raymond, what are you saying? You are not in your right mind. Just sleep, okay?” She replied as she ran her fingers through his hair.

Eventually, he closed his eyes and went back to sleep, still keeping his hand on her face. Captivated by his appearance, her mind raced with a constant stream of thoughts.

Jennifer suddenly realized that she hardly knew Raymond. Thoughts raced through her mind, wondering who he was referring to and who played a significant role in shaping him into the person he had become. His speaking seemed to suggest a deep connection with someone close to him.
