Chapter Forty One

Melina PoV

The atmosphere was tense as the Elders kept staring daggers at me, but I was not one to back down from a challenge. I came to be heard, and hear me they shall; regardless of their desire not to hear me.

“I presume, Sister Melina, that we’d already arrived at a conclusion regarding our conversation,” Elder Dawn, the nastiest and most vocal of the trio of Elders that made the council of Elders said in an annoying voice.

Her voice was not her most annoying feature, it was the way she turned up her nose at anyone or anything that had a contrary opinion to hers. Talk about a high level of superiority so intense it was beginning to get delusional.

“New information came to light that…” I tried to explain but that same annoying voice interrupted me just as soon as I began to speak. This time, she turned her nose towards Ramona who was standing quietly in the corner of the council room.
