Klaus PoV

“You take the one on the right, I’ll go left,” Axel whispered, “remember, we’re not here to start a war, so only knock them out. Maximo can do his dirty work by himself.”

Axel and I were at the borders of the Yellowstone pack, and, as expected, it was heavily guarded by the wolves from the Ortho Pack. The task Maximo gave us was delicate. We couldn’t just waltz through the front door to present an offer to the pack. We had to be discreet, and that was exactly the reason he had asked us.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Yes, he replied, nodding my head.

“Let’s roll out.”

The mission was simple. Infiltrate the pack while avoiding the guards from Ortho Pack, ensure no one sees us, and have a secret audience with the Alpha of the Yellowstone pack, ensuring he agrees to the proposal. Simple? But this wasn’t the first rodeo for Axel and I. We’d chosen to infiltrate the pack from the forest where we’d have cover from the guards.
