Chapter Twenty Seven

Lisa PoV

“I guess being eighteen doesn’t qualify you as adult,” I murmured as I pressed myself through the boulder to get to the other compartment which, for all intents and purposes, I call my room.

“He can’t even be much older than I am,” I grumbled while I plopped down on the rocky, makeshift bed, “and he has the guts to talk to me like he’s my parent.”

I couldn’t even jump and crash onto the bed out of frustration like I did back when I was incarcerated in the pack, else, I’d break every bone of my body.

“Stupid, crazy man,” I reeled out insults, “and he doesn’t even look older than twenty-five with his round, baby face and blue eyes.”

“Is someone falling in love already?”

Nessa’s voice caught me unawares, making me jump up in fright. I landed badly and hit my big toe against the rock.

“Ouch! Nessa!”

“What? I wasn’t the one that made you hit your toe against the floor,” she smirked.

“You should have warned me,” I muttered, rubbing my toe.
