Chapter 44: I don't want to hurt you

"I heard everything. Every word." Diana said coldly.

Alden was the first to move towards her, his hands outstretched to hold her.

"Don't!" She stopped him. "Don't come close to me. I can't believe I've been living a lie all these years. My entire life has been a lie."

"Diana that's not true." Luna Catherine said sadly, but she didn't try to go close, because the moment Diana started speaking, her eyes began to change color.

Diana turned sharply and she pinned her mother under her cold gaze. "You took me in and raised me as your child, and for that, I'm grateful. But why? Why lie to me? Did you think I would leave to find my real parents if you told me the truth? I never dreamt I would be deceived by the people I call my parents."

Catherine could not utter a word. All she could do was to look away.

"Diana, don't say such hurtful things." Alpha Alaric tried to reason with her. "We did what we thought was right."

"What you thought was right?" Diana asked incredulously, and her eyes flash
