Scarlette paced back and forth as she waited for Gabriel to return. Fear and worry clouded her mind as the thoughts of what could have happened to him raced through her head. She tried to stay positive, but the unknown was paralyzing.

Suddenly, she heard a rustling outside the cabin. Her heart raced and she reached for the stake Gabriel had left for her before he left. As the door opened, Scarlette gripped the stake tightly, ready to defend herself.

But it was Gabriel. He looked exhausted and troubled as he stumbled inside. Scarlette dropped the stake and ran to him, taking him into her arms.

"What happened? Are you alright?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Gabriel shook his head, "I took care of the situation, but it was worse than I thought. Isabella was killed by one of our own. He went rogue and the others are trying to cover it up."
